Position Summary
AO Multispecialty Clinic is seeking a compassionate and experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Rheumatology team with a primary focus on infusion therapy.
The Rheumatology Infusion Nurse is responsible for safely administering prescribed infusion therapies, monitoring patients throughout treatment, providing patient education, and coordinating closely with physicians, advanced practice providers, pharmacy, and other members of the clinical team.
The ideal candidate is clinically strong, detail-oriented, and comfortable independently managing infusion patients while providing a high level of compassionate, patient-centered care.
Key Responsibilities
Infusion Therapy & Patient Care
路 Administer prescribed IV infusion therapies in accordance with physician orders, established protocols, and nursing standards聽
路 Perform patient assessments and obtain appropriate vital signs before, during, and after treatment聽
路 Verify treatment orders, laboratory results, and other clinical requirements prior to administration聽
路 Establish and maintain peripheral IV access as needed聽
路 Monitor patients throughout treatment for tolerance, side effects, and adverse reactions聽
路 Recognize changes in patient condition and respond appropriately, including timely escalation to the provider聽
路 Ensure safe and accurate administration of medications and therapies聽
Patient Education & Support
路 Educate patients regarding their prescribed therapy, treatment process, potential side effects, and post-treatment instructions聽
路 Answer patient questions and reinforce provider-directed treatment plans聽
路 Provide compassionate support to patients managing chronic rheumatologic and autoimmune conditions聽
路 Communicate patient concerns or changes in condition to the appropriate provider聽
Clinical Coordination
路 Collaborate closely with rheumatologists, advanced practice providers, pharmacy, laboratory, and other clinical staff聽
路 Coordinate treatment readiness and communicate potential barriers or delays聽
路 Support scheduling and follow-up needs associated with infusion therapy聽
路 Assist with coordination of ongoing treatment plans and continuity of care聽
Documentation, Safety & Compliance
路 Maintain accurate and timely documentation within the electronic medical record聽
路 Document infusion administration, patient response, assessments, and interventions聽
路 Follow medication administration, infection prevention, and patient safety protocols聽
路 Maintain compliance with HIPAA and organizational policies聽
路 Ensure treatment areas are appropriately prepared, stocked, and maintained聽

Qualifications
Preferred
路 Minimum 2 years of nursing experience聽
路 Previous infusion nursing experience聽
路 Rheumatology, oncology, specialty infusion, or other ambulatory clinical experience聽
路 Experience caring for patients receiving long-term infusion therapy聽
路 Additional infusion-related training or certification

Required
路 Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)聽
路 Active and unrestricted Registered Nurse license in Georgia聽
路 Current BLS certification聽
路 Strong clinical assessment and patient communication skills聽
路 Ability to recognize and respond appropriately to infusion-related reactions聽
