SUMMARY: The Process Controls Technician position will have responsibilities including managing automated plant production reports, OT network equipment maintenance, providing backup IT support, and entry level PLC automation. The position will be based out of Hugoton, KS and cover Hugoton and other Seaboard Energy locations. This role is integral to optimizing production processes and expanding automation capabilities while aligning with Seaboard Energy's values and objectives.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Maintain and update existing Process Controls Automated Systems
- Provide troubleshooting support to I&E group for PID loop tuning and data analysis
- Provide production support and troubleshooting for changes to equipment configuration and production automation systems
- Participates in small, medium, and large capital project development activities and coordinates process control and SIS vendor activities for multiple assigned projects
- Responsible for interfacing between project team and site process control personnel for all assigned projects
- Participate in project PSM activities; MOC, PHA/HAZOP/LOPA, What If, Alarm Rationalization, etc.
- Participate in project process controls FAT, IFAT, SAT and HMI development
- Automated Reporting: Develop, configure, and maintain automated plant production reporting systems to provide real-time insights into production processes
- Data Integration: Collaborate with data sources across the plant to ensure seamless integration for accurate and comprehensive reporting
- Customization: Tailor automated reports to meet the specific needs of different stakeholders, providing relevant information for decision-making
- Network: Responsible for ensuring the reliability and security of the OT (Operational Technology) network infrastructure. Implement maintenance protocols to uphold network efficiency and minimize downtime
- Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for enhancing reporting capabilities and implement improvements to optimize data accuracy and visualization.
- Assist in implementation of High-Performance HMI Graphic philosophy for the existing control system interfaces
- Collaboration with Production Teams: Work closely with production teams to understand reporting requirements, ensure automated reports align with operational goals, and contribute to PLC automation initiatives.
- Documentation: Maintain detailed documentation of reporting configurations, changes, troubleshooting procedures, and PLC automation activities
- Any other duties as necessarily assigned by management.
REQUIREMENTS:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Valid Driver’s License
- Possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Knowledge of process controls for refineries
- Basic computer skills, including proficiency with Office Word and Excel
- Experience with system upgrades, enhancements, and troubleshooting
- Familiarity with industry regulations and standards
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities
WORK ENVIRONMENT: Work environment consists of office, plant production, and outside climate conditions. Noise level varies within the production area.
NORMAL WORK SCHEDULE: Monday through Friday, working hours to be determined. Occasionally extended hours or changes in schedule will be required as special circumstances arise.
