This role is responsible for developing and leading programs, discipleship opportunities, strategies, systems, and leaders to help engage young adults in the life of Bay Area Church and fulfill its vision to saturate the 4-B Area with the gospel by restoring people, families, and churches.    Employee Profile:   A committed and active member of Bay Area Church, or willing to transfer church membership if hired A strong, clear Christian testimony  A lifestyle that displays an ongoing personal relationship with God and a commitment to serve Him daily Acceptance, agreement, and compliance with Bay Area Church’s Statement of Faith and Standard of Conduct    Major Responsibilities: General Responsibilities:  Pursue Christ and biblical community Model faith in marriage, family, and relationships Conduct all matters with moral and legal integrity Represent Bay Area Church well through all interactions (in-person, social media, etc.) Vision & Strategy:  Develop a comprehensive strategy to reach and disciple young adults ages 18-30  Oversee all aspects of the Young Adult Ministry, including gatherings, Life Groups, leadership development, outreach, pastoral care, volunteer teams, budgeting, and strategic planning Work with the Discipleship Pastor to champion and implement the church’s vision within the young adult ministry Create clear on-ramps and next steps in coordination with the engagement and discipleship pathways of the church to help young adults follow Jesus, connect to community, and engage their world  Evaluate ministry effectiveness and make strategic improvements to increase impact and engagement  Collaborate with church leadership and other ministries to ensure alignment and integration  Leadership and Oversight  Provide leadership and oversight to all young adult ministry programs, systems, processes, teams, and events  Recruit, train, develop, and shepherd volunteer leaders and ministry teams, building a healthy leadership culture marked by ownership, spiritual maturity, collaboration, and multiplication  Lead regular planning meetings and leadership development opportunities  Ensure effective communication, organization, planning, and execution across all ministry efforts   Discipleship and Community  Create environments that foster authentic biblical community and spiritual growth  Oversee all Life Groups, discipleship groups, serving teams, and connection opportunities Partner with other ministries of the church to create and encourage mentoring relationships and opportunities  Encourage engagement in the broader life and ministry of the church.  Teaching and Pastoral Care  Regularly teach and equip gifted teachers to lead in young adult gatherings and discipleship environments  Be relationally present and actively engaged in the lives of young adults  Provide pastoral care, encouragement, counseling, and spiritual guidance to young adults and leaders Utilize resources and refer young adults to Care & Counseling opportunities and partners when needed  Help young adults navigate key life transitions and challenges with biblical wisdom and care  Outreach and Mission  Develop strategies to reach unchurched and disengaged young adults in the church and community  Create a culture of invitation and opportunities for inviting others to engage  Mobilize young adults in service and missions for kingdom impact both locally and globally  Equip young adults to live as disciples of Jesus in their workplaces, schools, relationships, and communities.  Administration and Communication  Oversee ministry calendars, budgets, communication plans, and event logistics; working with other departments and teams to ensure collaboration and effectiveness  Utilize systems and processes that support healthy ministry growth and follow-up  Maintain clear communication with volunteers, participants, parents (when appropriate), and church staff and leadership Utilize the church database and other tools to track engagement, participation, and other essential metrics and data  Other duties as assigned QualificationsEducation and Experience: Undergraduate degree required, seminary and theological training a plus Formal ministry experience and/or training preferred   Required Skills and Abilities: A growing faith and relationship with Jesus is evidenced in their life and relationships Agreement with Bay Area Church’s vision, mission, DNA, strategies, and beliefs  Evident passion for reaching and discipling young adults Social ability to interact well with different types of people from different backgrounds  Team player with the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with guests, members, vendors, and fellow employees Ability to recruit, train, and encourage volunteers Desire to create welcoming and hospitable environments and experiences for others  Desire to see others take the next steps in their faith in Jesus and involvement in the local church  An understanding of the role of ministry Ability to reflect and share the Gospel through words, actions, and interactions, both in work and personal settings  Intermediate computer skills in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Google Workspace Possess organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize and be detail-oriented Practice and ensure proper sensitivity and confidentiality with information  Ability to consistently meet deadlines   Essential Job Functions: Ability to reason logically and make sound decisions, to consider alternative and diverse perspectives, to communicate effectively both orally and in writing, to remain poised under all circumstances, and to interact effectively with people in a positive manner that engenders confidence and trust Ability to complete assigned tasks without direct supervision Ability to exercise independent judgment and make decisions Ability to work with people beyond giving and receiving instructions;
