Working with customers around the world, you'll carry out structural and mechanical assessments, solve complex engineering challenges and contribute directly to the standards that define safe offshore operations.

Our Department

Assurance Services brings together over 170 specialists delivering technical assurance, verification and advisory services across the energy sector. This role sits within Asset Assurance, supporting the safe operation of assets throughout their lifecycle, from installation through to decommissioning.

This Opportunity

Based at our modern offices in Dyce, you'll join a highly respected team of structural and mechanical engineers responsible for the certification of offshore containers and portable offshore units used throughout the global energy industry. 

What makes this team different is the influence it has on the industry itself. DNV-ST-E271 became the recognised benchmark for offshore container design and certification, and our team continues to maintain and develop the standard today.

We also played a leading role in the development of ISO 10855, helping shape international best practice. 

Working with customers around the world, you'll encounter a wide variety of projects, technical challenges and industries, making this an excellent opportunity to develop deep technical expertise while building broader commercial and project management skills.

As an Approval Engineer, you will:

• Assess offshore containers, lifting equipment and portable offshore units against DNV and international standards
• Work alongside recognised industry experts who help develop and maintain global best practice
• Apply engineering analysis tools, including finite element modelling, to solve complex technical challenges
• Take increasing ownership of projects, customer relationships and technical decisions as your experience grows
