Laboratory Analyst II

Basic Duties and ResponsibilitiesÂ
- Lead daily laboratory activities independently to ensure work is completed efficiently and safely.Â
- Develop and maintain quality control practices.Â
- Work alongside management on method development and troubleshooting.Â
- Properly receive and log all incoming samples.Â
- Follow standard operating procedures for all testing parameters.Â
- Prepares standards and reagents required for proper calibration of instrumentation.Â
- Perform laboratory instrument calibrations and routine maintenance.Â
- Troubleshoot and perform basic repairs of laboratory instrumentation.Â
- Prepares analytical reports and properly communicates any off-spec results with management.Â
- Conduct inventory and/or purchasing of laboratory consumables.Â
- Performs other related duties or special projects as assigned. Â
- Properly move and handle compressed gas cylinders.Â
- Participate in quarterly laboratory safety audits.Â
- Adhere to all applicable Health and Safety rules and regulations within the facility and laboratory.  Wear PPE as required by the facility.  Â
- Function in an industrial environment adjacent to plant operations.Â
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:Â
- Laboratory Safety & Good Laboratory Practices (GLP).Â
- Knowledge of gas chromatography (GC using ECD), inductively coupled plasma (ICP-OES), physical testing, flash point testing, wet chemistry, etc.Â
- Experience with EPA and other regulatory methods.Â
- Proficiency with Microsoft, specifically Excel, Outlook, and Access.Â
- Experience with Chromeleon and Syngistix software preferred but not required.Â
Basic Requirements and QualificationsÂ
- 4-6 years of experience working in a laboratory environment.Â
- >1 year experience instrument maintenance.Â
- Associate or bachelor’s degree in chemistry or related field, preferred.Â
- Work hours: 8am – 5 pm, may vary upon request.Â
- Ability to work a 12-hour shift, if needed.Â
