Job DetailsLevel: ExperiencedJob Location: Texas - Remote, TX 75001Position Type: Part TimeSalary Range: $22.00 - $39.00 HourlyField Technicians – Levels 1 - 4 Location: Dallas–Fort Worth (DFW), TX – Local Candidates Preferred Company: Tower Communications Expert, LLC (TCE) Employment Type: Full-Time, Hourly Pay Range: $22.00–$39.00/hour, based on experience and skill level   Position Overview Tower Communications Expert, LLC (TCE) is seeking experienced and motivated Field Technicians – Levels 1 through 4 to support telecom white space, shelter, central office, and equipment buildout projects throughout the Dallas–Fort Worth area. Positions are available for candidates ranging from entry-level installers/helpers to highly experienced telecom commissioning and buildout leads. Level and compensation will be determined based on demonstrated experience, technical knowledge, leadership capability, and ability to work independently from construction drawings and project specifications. Our field teams support the installation, integration, testing, and closeout of telecom infrastructure, including racks and cabinets, DC power systems, batteries, BDCBBs, grounding and bonding, alarms, HVAC/environmental monitoring, fiber and Ethernet cabling, cable pathways, and related equipment. Field Technician Level 1 – Installer Helper / Material & QA Support Typical Experience: 1+ year Primary Focus: Field support, materials, installation assistance, documentation, and jobsite organization. Responsibilities Receive, stage, organize, and track project materials and equipment. Assist with rack, cabinet, equipment, and battery placement. Support cable pulling, labeling, pathway installation, and minor hardware installation. Assist experienced technicians with grounding, bonding, cabling, and equipment installation. Maintain an organized and safe work area, including cleanup and material control. Take progress and closeout photos as required. Identify material shortages and communicate them to the crew lead. Assist with punch-list and project closeout activities. Follow TCE and customer safety and quality requirements. Qualifications 1+ year of telecom, electrical helper, construction, warehouse, data center, or similar field experience preferred. Basic knowledge of hand and power tools. Ability to safely lift, move, stage, and organize equipment and materials. Strong reliability, attention to detail, and ability to follow instructions. Willingness to learn telecom installation standards and advance to higher technician levels. Field Technician Level 2 – Telecom Installer / Rack & Cable Technician Typical Experience: 3+ years Primary Focus: Telecom equipment installation, racks, cabling, pathways, labeling, and workmanship. Responsibilities Install, level, secure, and assemble telecom racks, cabinets, and support hardware. Install cable management, ladder rack accessories, mounting hardware, and pathway components. Pull, route, dress, secure, and label fiber, Ethernet, alarm, signal, and low-voltage cabling. Complete installations according to drawings, customer specifications, and telecom workmanship standards. Assist with BDCBB, DC power plant, and battery rack installation. Support grounding and bonding installation. Perform field QA checks and support project photo documentation. Identify installation discrepancies and communicate them to the crew lead. Qualifications 3+ years of telecom installation, central office, shelter, data center, or similar experience. Ability to read basic construction/layout drawings and follow cable routing plans. Strong cable dressing, routing, and labeling skills. Familiarity with fiber handling, Ethernet cabling, alarm wiring, racks, cabinets, and telecom hardware. Experience with grounding and bonding preferred. Ability to work efficiently under the direction of a senior technician or field lead. Field Technician Level 3 – Power / DC Plant / Alarm Technician Typical Experience: 5+ years Primary Focus: DC power, BDCBBs, batteries, alarms, grounding, testing, and system checkout. Responsibilities Support installation and checkout of telecom DC power plant equipment. Install and support BDCBB equipment and associated cabling. Install or assist with battery racks, VRLA battery systems, and battery strings. Pull, land, dress, torque, and label DC power conductors where qualified and authorized. Install grounding jumpers, rack bonds, battery rack bonds, BDCBB bonds, and cable tray bonds. Pull, route, dress, and terminate alarm wiring under project requirements. Assist with HVAC and environmental alarm-point verification. Perform continuity checks, voltage checks, and basic testing using appropriate test equipment. Support DC power plant turn-up and commissioning readiness. Work from construction drawings and project specifications with limited supervision. Qualifications 5+ years of telecom power, central office, shelter, data center, or related field experience. Strong working knowledge of -48V DC telecom power systems. Experience with rectifiers, DC power plants, BDCBBs, battery strings, alarms, grounding, and bonding. Experience working safely around VRLA battery systems. Ability to use multimeters, torque tools, labelers, and other standard telecom test equipment. Ability to interpret drawings and complete assigned scopes with limited supervision. Strong attention to safety, workmanship, testing, and documentation. Field Technician Level 4 – White Space Buildout / Commissioning Lead Typical Experience: 8+ years Primary Focus: Field leadership, drawings, DC power, alarms, HVAC, commissioning, QA, and final customer acceptance. Responsibilities Lead daily field activities and coordinate work assignments for the field crew. Read and interpret complete construction drawing packages, including shelter layouts, electrical drawings, grounding details, one-line diagrams, rack elevations, and manufacturer drawings. Verify single-wide and double-wide shelter layouts against approved construction documents. Confirm rack/cabinet placement, cable holes, conduit stub-ups, cable tray routing, battery rack locations, BDCBB locations, and DC power plant locations. Program or coordinate programming and verification of HVAC controllers, environmental alarms, door alarms, battery alarms, power plant alarms, rectifier settings, and related systems. Coordinate with customers, general contractors, electrical contractors, shelter vendors, NOC personnel, engineering teams, and other project stakeholders. Validate alarm wiring and confirm required alarm points prior to closeout. Verify DC plant configuration, rectifier status, battery string configuration, float voltage, alarms, and commissioning readiness. Review grounding and bonding installations prior to inspection and acceptance. Identify field conflicts and make appropriate field decisions to prevent delays and rework. Lead QA/QC, punch-list completion, drawing redlines, and project closeout. Support final customer inspection and acceptance. Qualifications 8+ years of telecom, data center, central office, shelter buildout, or similar infrastructure experience. Advanced knowledge of -48V DC telecom power systems. Strong ability to interpret electrical drawings, grounding drawings, construction plans, shelter drawings, rack elevations, and one-line diagrams. Experience with GE Infinity M or similar telecom DC power plants preferred. Strong experience with rectifiers, BDCBBs, batteries, alarm blocks, environmental alarms, HVAC alarm points, battery alarms, grounding, and bonding. Demonstrated experience leading telecom field crews and coordinating multiple scopes. Ability to troubleshoot field issues and make sound decisions with minimal supervision. Strong communication, documentation, QA/QC, and customer-facing skills. Experience completing redlines, commissioning documentation, alarm checkout sheets, punch lists, and closeout packages. QualificationsGeneral Requirements – All Levels Must be local to or within reasonable commuting distance of the Dallas–Fort Worth area, or willing to relocate to the area. Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record preferred/required based on position duties. Ability to travel locally to project sites throughout the DFW market. Ability to work flexible schedules, including overtime, evenings, or weekends when required by project schedules. Ability to safely use hand tools, power tools, ladders, and required field equipment. Ability to lift and move equipment/materials consistent with field installation responsibilities. Must follow all TCE, customer, OSHA, and site-specific safety requirements. Strong attendance, reliability, communication, and teamwork are required. Must maintain professional workmanship and jobsite standards. Ability to complete required project documentation, photos, labeling, and closeout requirements. Telecom, electrical, low-voltage, data center, central office, shelter, or similar infrastructure experience is strongly preferred. Compensation Hourly Pay Range: $22.00–$39.00/hour Final technician level and hourly rate will be determined based on relevant experience, technical capabilities, certifications, leadership experience, and demonstrated proficiency with the applicable scope of work.
