Description: Harris Beach Murtha seeks an associate-level attorney to join our growing state-wide Corporate Practice Group.

 

The Corporate Associate will have the opportunity to:

  • Draft, review and negotiate various transactional agreements, shareholders agreements, operating agreements and buy-sell agreements, contracts, financing documents and other corporate documents
  • Structure, negotiate and close mergers and acquisitions, asset and stock purchase and sale transactions and private equity transactions
  • Advise clients on legal issues related to formation, operation and expansion of businesses and succession planning
  • Interact with clients to service existing work and to grow and maintain relationships
  • Collaborate with colleagues across various practice groups to provide comprehensive legal support to our clients
  • The firm requires a minimum of 1800 billable hours annually

 

Applications are encouraged and desired if you have: 

  • 3-7+ years’ experience in general corporate, business succession planning, and mergers and acquisitions
  • Admission to New York required
  • Must have Juris Doctorate degree with an ABA accredited law school and be an active member in good standing of the New York State Bar
  • Must have excellent research and writing skills
  • Must be able to effectively communicate orally and in writing
  • Must be able to function effectively in a team-oriented environment
  • Exhibits conscientiousness, dedication, self-discipline, and a sense of responsibility
  • Ability to work with diverse personalities within various levels of the organization
  • Military experience welcome
