JOB CATEGORY: MAINTENANCE / ADMINISTRATION 

POSITION SUMMARY: The Corporate Facility and Maintenance Technician directs or assists with the corporate-wide maintenance and custodial program in order to maintain all facilities, grounds and equipment in a sanitary, functional, attractive and orderly condition. 

LIMITATIONS OF AUTHORITY: The Corporate Facility and Maintenance Technician confers with the General Services Manager or General Services Director before initiating expenditures of more than $500 cost.  In their absence, the Corporate Facility and Maintenance Technician may initiate emergency repairs not to exceed $1,000.

Qualifications

REQUIREMENTS

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent plus four years’ experience in general maintenance, plumbing, carpentry, electrical, HVAC, and/or painting; OR eight years’ experience in general maintenance, plumbing, carpentry, electrical, HVAC, and/or painting.
  • Broad knowledge of construction, repair, maintenance and service procedures, practices, problems and compliance, including procurement, cost-benefit analysis and cost control, also landscaping and mechanical systems preferred.

 

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:

  • Licenses/certifications in mechanical (HVAC), plumbing, or electrical preferred.

 

DRIVING REQUIREMENTS:

  • May be required to use personal transportation to carry out job duties. 
  • Must possess and maintain a valid Driver's License.
  • Must provide a current motor vehicle record.
  • Must provide current personal owner liability automobile insurance and must maintain the insurance coverage throughout the course of employment in this position.
  • Must submit to a motor vehicle record check on an as needed basis and maintain a satisfactory driving record that is within the limitations of PMS Human Resources Policy II.D.3, Automobile Usage, and applicable state and federal laws.
  • Must comply with PMS Policies on Automobile Usage, II.D.3, Drug Free Workplace, III.H and applicable state and federal laws.  
  • May be required to complete transportation related trainings.
