Responsibilities
- Work under the moderate supervision of nursing and medical staff to perform all necessary duties, which include assisting patients with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, eating, and other ADLs.
- Observe patients’ progress to prepare and disseminate reports to Registered Nurses or other medical staff.
- Obtain and record patients' vital signs and collect specimens for lab tests.Â
- Provide basic patient transport and housekeeping duties.
- Measure and record patients' intake and output and other measurements in accordance with unit routines, assist patients with range of motion, and draw blood.
Qualifications
Job Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED.
BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.
Preferred Job Requirements:
- Completion of approved CNA, PCT, or paramedic (EMT-P) certification, which includes BLS, or currently enrolled in nursing school.
- Two (2) years of experience in acute or long-term care.
- Experience in Phlebotomy or completion of a Phlebotomy course.
- Demonstrated proficiency in phlebotomy.
- Knowledge of medical terminology.
