Individual Character Requirements All employees are expected, as part of their job requirements, to: Work collaboratively with others Contributes to the overall success of the department Communicates effectively Organized, neat and time efficient Accountable and responsible in carrying out all assigned duties Follows company policies and procedures Conducts themselves professionally, with self-control, and Contributes to a positive working environment Reporting Reports directly to the Supervisor of Scheduling Supervision None Typical Physical Demands Work may require sitting for long periods of time; also stooping, bending, and stretching for files and supplies. Occasionally lifting files or paper weighing up to 30 pounds. Requires manual dexterity sufficient to operate a keyboard, calculator, telephone, copier, and other office equipment as necessary. Vision must be correctable to 20/20 and hearing must be in the normal range for telephone contact and use. It is necessary to view and type on computer screens and work in an environment which can be very stressful. Typical Working Conditions Work is performed in an outpatient radiology office setting. Work may be stressful at times due to the high volume of incoming calls, irate/difficult phone calls and handling multiple tasks all at once. Duties and Responsibilities 1. Answers all incoming calls in a prompt and courteous manner. 2. Obtain patient demographics, insurance information and requested procedure data from various sources (MI, EPIC and PenRad) to reserve a scheduled appointment time. 3. Able to read and interpret medical orders/forms 4. Places outgoing appointment calls to patients/medical offices. 5. Maintains work area in a neat and orderly manner. 6. Maintains strictest confidentiality/ and upholds HIPAA 7. Performs related work as required and other duties as assigned. Position may include extended hours and Saturdays. QualificationsPerformance Requirements  Proficient in medical terminology.  Ability to obtain and present concise data in verbal and written forms.  Knowledge of proper grammar, spelling, and punctuation to type information.  Skill in operating a copier, facsimile, and other office equipment.  Ability to use common software packages (e.g., spreadsheets, databases, word processing, statistical, e-mail and internet).  Ability to prioritize department functions and services.  Ability to speak clearly and concisely, follow and comprehend oral and written instruction.  Ability to promote excellent interpersonal skills.  Is proficient in Scheduling all Radiology Modalities (Mammography/Ultrasound/X-Ray/CT/MRI)  Acts as Trainer and Mentor for all new and incoming schedulers  Proficient in all Insurances and Payers and understanding of EOB’s  Is responsible for additional tasks and projects as assigned Education High School Diploma Experience 1. One to Two Years Medical Office Experience Required (Scheduling Preferred) 2. Computer and multi-system experience 3. Multi-line phone systems experience. Certificate/License None.
