Responsibilities
- Assist the Head Coach with planning and executing theatre productions.
- Set up, operate, and maintain lighting, sound, and audiovisual equipment.
- Design, build, and install stage sets and scenery according to production needs.
- Coordinate backstage crew, including stagehands, props, and costume assistants.
- Ensure safety protocols are followed during all technical operations.
- Maintain inventory of technical supplies and recommend equipment upgrades.
- Support rehearsals by providing technical cues and feedback.
- Collaborate with faculty to integrate theatre arts into the broader curriculum.
- Assist in budgeting and resource allocation for the performing‑arts department.
- Participate in professional development to stay current with theatre technology trends.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Theatre Arts, Technical Production, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 2+ years of experience in stage technical work, set design, or production management.
- Proficiency with lighting consoles, sound boards, and rigging systems.
- Strong knowledge of safety standards for theatrical equipment and rigging.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends for productions.
- Experience mentoring student volunteers and crew members.
- Creative problem‑solving abilities for set construction and technical challenges.
- Familiarity with school district policies and student supervision guidelines.
- Passion for fostering student growth in the performing arts.
