American Farm Bureau Insurance Services, Inc. (AFBIS, Inc.), provider of support and crop insurance services to Farm Bureau insurance companies, is looking for a Crop Insurance Claims Auditor. This is a hybrid role working out of the Fargo office at least two days a week and one additional day within a two-week period. We will also consider experienced remote talent for this position. There will be up to 20% travel. 

As a member of our Policy Administration team, you will be responsible for auditing and processing all MPCI and/or Crop Hail claims to ensure that claims are paid timely and accurately. 

The Crop Insurance Claims Auditor will be responsible for:

  • Making the appropriate claims determination by reviewing all relevant claims information, including production and quality control records, farming practices and entities in accordance with policies and procedures
  • Monitoring and tracking all livestock claims
  • Initiating area plan payments as data is released by RMA
  • Corresponding with agents, adjusters, field staff or other companies for supporting documentation, such as loss documents and quality control forms to ensure proper claim payments
  • Creating, monitoring, and completing claim file reviews

What you will bring to this position:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience within agriculture or farming
  • 2+ years of crop insurance experience
  • Knowledge of agricultural commodities and good farming practices 
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret policy information 
  • Experience with Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat
  • Ability to calculate percentages, perform other mathematical computations, and input data\

The expected starting salary range for this position is between $50,000 and $60,000. Applicable salary ranges may differ across markets. Actual pay will be determined based on experience and other job-related factors permitted by law.
