About the Role:

The Initial Outfitting & Transition (IO&T) Support role in Logistics Support is critical to ensuring the seamless integration and deployment of new systems, equipment, or facilities within an organization. This position focuses on coordinating and managing the logistics activities necessary to outfit and transition assets from development or acquisition phases into operational status. The successful candidate will work closely with cross-functional teams to plan, schedule, and execute the delivery, installation, and validation of materials and resources. They will also monitor progress, identify potential risks or delays, and implement corrective actions to maintain project timelines. Ultimately, this role ensures that all logistical elements are aligned to support operational readiness and mission success across various locations within the United States.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in logistics support, project coordination, or supply chain management.
  • Proven ability to manage complex projects involving multiple stakeholders and tight deadlines.
  • Strong knowledge of logistics principles, inventory control, and transportation management.
  • Proficiency with project management and logistics software tools.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience supporting Initial Outfitting & Transition activities in a defense, aerospace, or manufacturing environment.
  • Certification in Project Management (PMP) or Supply Chain (CSCP, CLTD).
  • Familiarity with government contracting and compliance requirements.
  • Advanced skills in data analysis and reporting tools.
  • Ability to obtain security clearance if required.

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and manage the logistics planning and execution for initial outfitting and transition activities.
  • Collaborate with engineering, procurement, and operations teams to ensure timely delivery and installation of equipment and materials.
  • Develop and maintain detailed schedules, tracking progress and adjusting plans to mitigate risks or delays.
  • Oversee inventory management, transportation, and storage of assets during the transition phase.
  • Prepare and present status reports, documentation, and recommendations to leadership and stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant safety, regulatory, and quality standards throughout the outfitting and transition process.
  • Support troubleshooting and problem resolution related to logistics challenges during deployment.

The required skills enable the candidate to effectively plan, coordinate, and execute logistics operations critical to outfitting and transitioning new systems or facilities. Strong project management skills are used daily to develop schedules, allocate resources, and track progress against milestones. Communication and collaboration skills facilitate working with diverse teams and stakeholders to resolve issues and ensure alignment. Analytical skills support the identification of risks and the implementation of corrective actions to maintain timelines and budgets. Preferred skills such as familiarity with government regulations and advanced data analysis enhance the candidate’s ability to navigate complex environments and provide insightful reporting to leadership.
