Legal Associate

Software Finder is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Legal Associate to support the daily operations of its legal function. This role will work closely with Legal Counsel on commercial contracts, legal research, regulatory monitoring, compliance documentation, corporate governance, dispute support, and legal operations.

The ideal candidate will have strong legal research, drafting, and analytical skills, with an understanding of the legal and regulatory considerations affecting technology and SaaS businesses. This position requires excellent organizational abilities, professional judgment, and the capacity to manage multiple assignments under the supervision of Legal Counsel.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support Legal Counsel in managing daily legal operations, workflows, incoming requests, deadlines, and matter tracking.

  • Maintain organized legal files, contract repositories, corporate records, and compliance documentation.

  • Support the implementation and maintenance of contract lifecycle management and legal matter management systems.

  • Develop and update legal templates, contract playbooks, checklists, and standard operating procedures.

  • Conduct legal research on technology, SaaS, data privacy, intellectual property, commercial law, consumer protection, and related matters.

  • Prepare clear legal research memoranda, summaries, and recommendations for Legal Counsel’s review.

  • Monitor and summarize regulatory and legislative developments that may affect the business.

  • Draft, review, and support the negotiation of SaaS and subscription agreements, master service agreements, data processing agreements, non-disclosure agreements, vendor and partner agreements, service-level agreements, and software licensing agreements.

  • Redline and mark up commercial contracts under Legal Counsel’s supervision.

  • Assist with preparing internal policies, compliance materials, and corporate governance documents.

  • Support the preparation of documentation, exhibits, timelines, and case chronologies for disputes, litigation, and regulatory matters.

  • Track legal deadlines, filings, contractual obligations, and case-status updates.

  • Receive and assess internal legal requests, escalating complex or high-risk matters to Legal Counsel.

  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders to obtain information and documentation required for legal matters.

  • Maintain confidentiality and ensure the appropriate handling of sensitive legal and business information.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) degree from a reputable institution.

  • Valid license to practice law or membership with the relevant Bar Council.

  • Minimum of two years of relevant legal experience in an in-house, corporate, commercial, or law-firm environment.

  • Strong legal research, analytical, and professional writing skills.

  • Practical experience drafting, reviewing, and redlining commercial contracts.

  • Understanding of contract law, corporate law, commercial law, and regulatory compliance.

  • Ability to manage multiple assignments, deadlines, and ongoing legal matters under supervision.

  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and document-management capabilities.

  • High standards of professional ethics, discretion, and confidentiality.

  • Previous experience within a technology, IT, software, or B2B SaaS organization is preferred.

  • Familiarity with subscription and licensing agreements, data processing agreements, service-level agreements, and master service agreements is preferred.

  • Understanding of international data privacy frameworks, including GDPR and CCPA, is preferred.

  • Exposure to intellectual property, consumer protection, and technology-sector regulations is preferred.

  • Experience with contract lifecycle management, legal matter management, or document-management systems is preferred.

  • Familiarity with legal operations, contract repositories, matter tracking, and compliance reporting is preferred.

  • Experience developing legal templates, playbooks, checklists, and standard operating procedures is preferred.
