About the Role 

As the Regulatory Counsel, you'll serve as the trusted legal advisor on regulatory matters across multiple WM Partners portfolio companies. You'll work closely with leadership, product development, quality, marketing, operations, and commercial teams to help ensure that products, claims and business practices comply with FDA, FTC, and other applicable law and regulatory standards. 

Your day-to-day work will include reviewing product labels, packaging, advertising claims, websites, social media, and other marketing materials; advising on dietary supplement, food, beverage, cosmetic, and consumer health regulations; supporting new product development and launches; evaluating regulatory risks and preparing guidance; training business partners and providing advice on changes and updates to applicable law; monitoring manufacturers and certifications; responding to FDA inquiries and other compliance matters; and monitoring changes in the regulatory landscape to proactively guide the business. 

This role requires balancing legal risk with commercial objectives, providing practical, business-oriented advice, and partnering with multiple portfolio companies that are operating in fast-paced, entrepreneurial environments. 

Requirements 

 

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.  
  • Active license to practice law in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.  
  • 3–5 years of legal experience following law school.  
  • Experience in FDA, FTC DA, FTC, advertising law, consumer protection, product labeling, regulatory compliance, or related matters at a law firm and/or in-house legal department.  
  • Strong understanding of FDA and FTC regulations, including labeling, advertising, and product compliance.  
  • Ability to communicate complex legal concepts in a practical, business-friendly manner.  
  • Excellent judgment and strong analytical skills.  
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and stakeholders simultaneously.  

Preferred 

  • Experience supporting health and wellness, dietary supplement, food, beverage, cosmetic, or consumer packaged goods companies.  
  • Experience reviewing marketing claims and advertising materials.  
  • Familiarity with FTC advertising regulations and NAD guidance.
