JOB TITLE:  Server

            

REPORTS TO: Tap Room Manager

 

SUPERVISES: NA

 

PRIMARY OBJECTIVE OF POSITION:

 

Service guests, retrieve and serve alcoholic, non-alcoholic beverages and light meals to guests, courteously and efficiently. Assist in the maintenance of the outlet area and equipment.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES AND JOB DUTIES:

 

  • Maintain complete knowledge of all menu items, liquor brands, beers and non-alcoholic selections available.

    • Maintain complete knowledge of designated glassware and garnishes for each drink.
    • Maintain complete knowledge of and strictly abide by state liquor regulations, particularly those prohibiting service to minors, intoxicated persons and drunk driving.
    • Maintain complete knowledge of table/seat/station numbers, proper table set ups, room capacity, hours of operation, menus, and price range.
    • Maintain complete knowledge of correct maintenance and use of equipment; use equipment only as intended.
    • Maintain complete knowledge and comply with all departmental policies and service procedures.
    • Maintain complete knowledge of Micros and manual systems.
    • Complete opening side duties:
    • Fold/stack cocktail napkins.
    • Stock swizzle sticks, straws, and matches.
    • Line cocktail trays.
    • Stock glassware.
    • Restock supply cabinet.
    • Inspect cleanliness and condition of assigned station and service areas; rectify any deficiencies.
    • Greet guests and take their orders (food and beverage), utilizing suggestive/up selling techniques.
    • Input orders into system and ensure transmission is verified by Bartender/Kitchen.
    • Retrieve orders from designated areas and serve to guest's.
    • Be familiar with all hotel services/features and local attractions/activities to respond accurately to any guest inquiry.
    • Handle guest complaints following the instant pacification procedures and ensuring guest satisfaction.
    • Monitor and maintain cleanliness, sanitation and organization of tables, service areas and outlet itself.
    • Remove soiled wares from tables to dishwashing area.
    • Adhere to all cash handling and credit policies/procedures.
    • Clean and reset tables immediately after guests depart.
    • Complete closing side duties:
    • Properly store all reusable goods.
    • Remove all items from tables; place clean items in designated areas; wipe clean all surfaces of tables.
    • Restock supply cabinet.
    • Secure all storage areas.
    • Position involves working in an outdoor environment with exposure to varying weather conditions and environmental elements.

     

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

 

  • Ability to work and stand in confined spaces for long periods of time.
  • Requires the ability to lift and carry object weighing up to 50 pounds. 
  • Standing for 90 % of work shift is required.
  • Activities include standing, reaching, bending, pushing, pulling, handling, lifting, carrying, seeing, hearing, talking, walking.

     

SPECIAL SKILLS REQUIRED:

 

  • Must meet state minimum age for serving alcoholic beverages. 
  • Ability to access and input information into Micros system.
  • Ability to exercise good judgment in determining potentially intoxicated guests.
  • Ability to maintain good coordination while serving orders quickly.
  • Ability to exert physical effort in transporting trays and wine buckets from service area to guest.
  • Ability to endure abundant physical movements in servicing guests throughout the work areas.
  • Ability to perform job functions with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to work cohesively with co-workers as part of a team.

 

EDUCATION REQUIRED:

 

  • Any combination of education and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities. 

 

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

 

  • One year experience as a Cocktail Server or Food Server.

 

LICENSES OR CERTIFICATES:

 

  • Tips and Food Handlers certificate required.

SALARY:
