What You'll Do
As a CHHA with Home Helpers, your overnight duties will include ā but are not limited to:
- Assistance with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs)
- Bathing, grooming, and personal hygiene support
- Transfers and mobility assistance
- Toileting and incontinence care
- Medication reminders
- Vital signs monitoring (as directed)
- Companionship and emotional support
- Overnight supervision and safety monitoring
- Light housekeeping during downtime
- Meal prep and feeding assistance if needed
- Accurate documentation and shift notes
- Communication with care coordinators and families
Requirements
- Active, valid New Jersey CHHA certification ā
required - Valid NJ driver's license and reliable transportation
- Availability for overnight shifts (8, 10, or 12 hours)
- Ability to pass a criminal background check
- Strong communication skills and professional demeanor
- Genuine compassion for elderly and vulnerable populations
- Ability to safely perform physical care tasks including transfers and lifting
