About the Role:
Bright Imaginations Prep in Lakeland, FL is looking for a passionate and nurturing Paraprofessional to join our Elementary school team! This is a wonderful opportunity to make a lasting impact on young learners by supporting their academic, social, and emotional development every single day.
Responsibilities:
- Assist lead teachers in delivering engaging, age-appropriate instruction to elementary-aged students
- Provide one-on-one and small group support to students who need additional academic assistance
- Help maintain a safe, organized, and positive classroom environment
- Monitor and redirect student behavior using positive behavior intervention strategies
- Support students during transitions, lunch, recess, and other non-instructional periods
- Assist with preparing classroom materials, activities, and learning resources
- Communicate student progress and concerns effectively with lead teachers and staff
Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED required; Associate's degree or 48 college credit hours preferred
- Prior experience working with young children in a school or childcare setting is a plus
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with students, parents, and staff
- Patient, dependable, and passionate about early childhood and elementary education
- Ability to follow directions and collaborate effectively with lead teachers
- Must pass a background check in accordance with Florida state requirements
- CPR and First Aid certification preferred or willingness to obtain
