Nellson is seeking a motivated and experienced Truck Driver to join our Powder Division in Anaheim, California.Â
Shift: 2pm - 10:30pm. Must be able to work overtime and weekends when necessary.
Position Summary
The Truck Driver – Trailer is responsible for safely transporting trailers, materials, and finished goods between company sites, warehouses, and customer locations. This role ensures timely, accurate, and compliant transportation activities while adhering to DOT regulations, safety requirements, and company policies.
Essential Functions
- Operate tractor-trailer and/or trailer equipment in a safe and professional manner.
- Transport trailers, materials, and finished goods according to assigned routes and schedules.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and compliance.
- Comply with all DOT, local, and state transportation regulations.
- Accurately complete driver logs, inspection reports, and shipping documentation.
- Communicate delays, safety issues, or equipment concerns to supervision.
- Secure loads properly to prevent damage or safety hazards.
- Maintain cleanliness and basic upkeep of assigned vehicles and trailers.
Additional Duties
- Assist with trailer spotting, yard movements, and staging activities.
- Support loading and unloading activities as required.
- Participate in safety meetings and training programs.
- Support audits, inspections, and compliance checks related to transportation.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Valid CDL (Class A) with acceptable driving record.
- 2+ years of commercial driving experience preferred.
- Knowledge of DOT regulations, hours-of-service requirements, and safety practices.
- Ability to operate tractor-trailer equipment safely.
- Ability to read and understand shipping documents and route instructions.
- Strong attention to safety, detail, and professionalism.
Physical Demands
While performing the essential functions of this job, the employee may be required to sit for extended periods, climb in and out of vehicles, bend, reach, and lift up to 50 pounds.
