Pittsburgh Glass Works, LLC, a subsidiary of Vitro Automotive Glass, is hiring a Process Engineer for our Tipton, PA facility.  PGW is a top manufacturer of automotive glass in North America.  We maintain a high-quality standard through the work of our talented engineers.  Come join our team!  

 

This position is responsible for the technical management, maintenance and development of new and existing production lines in our Lamination Assembly Department.  

 

Responsibilities:

  • Support the plan, layout, and sequence of manufacturing, test and material handling operations using lean manufacturing principles.
  • Identify and adapt machine and equipment design to accommodate plant and production conditions. 
  • Participate and lead root cause analysis of quality and build issues for assigned manufacturing areas of responsibility.
  • Study and improve manufacturing processes and procedures aimed at lowering manufacturing costs. 
  • Research, benchmark, introduce and maintain safety practices in all activities and supported areas.  
  • Plan the sequence of operations and write/maintain Standard Work Instructions for each area.
  • Trouble shoot product and machine difficulties.
  • Prepare requests and cost justifications for capital improvement projects. 

 

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering is required
  • 5-7 years of experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred
  • Excellent troubleshooting and analytical skills
  • Effective oral and written communication as well as presentation skills
  • Familiarity of Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook
