We currently have an opening for an Inventory Control Clerk I in our Gowanda BTI facility, located in Arcade, NY. This position is critical to supporting production operations by ensuring materials are accurately received, stored, inventoried, and staged for manufacturing. The Inventory Control Clerk I is responsible for maintaining inventory accuracy, preparing and issuing material kits for production, performing inventory counts, and supporting inventory audits. This role helps ensure uninterrupted production operations by maintaining accurate inventory records and ensuring materials are available when needed. The Inventory Control Clerk I reports directly to the SUPERVISOR TITLE.

Details of the Role: The Inventory Control Clerk I maintains accurate records of finished goods, raw materials, components, and supplies while ensuring inventory transactions are completed accurately and timely. This position performs inventory control functions including kitting materials for production, conducting cycle counts, verifying inventory transactions, and supporting physical inventory audits. The role monitors inventory levels and communicates material shortages to appropriate personnel to help prevent production disruptions. The Inventory Control Clerk I follows established procedures and works under general supervision to support inventory accuracy and material availability throughout the facility.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Accurately pick, kit, stage, and deliver materials required for production orders.
  • Verify materials, quantities, and part numbers to ensure complete and accurate kits are provided to production.
  • Maintain accurate inventory transactions and records.
  • Receive, store, organize, and replenish inventory within designated warehouse and production areas.
  • Maintain accurate identification, labeling, and storage of inventory items.
  • Monitor inventory levels and promptly notify appropriate personnel when inventory is insufficient to support production requirements.
  • Perform routine cycle counts and assist with physical inventory counts.
  • Participate in inventory audits and be available during audit activities as required.
  • Identify and report inventory discrepancies to appropriate personnel.
  • Move materials between warehouse and production areas using approved equipment and procedures.
  • Maintain clean, organized, and safe inventory storage areas.
  • Follow all company safety, quality, and work instructions.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements: 

  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the work shift.
  • Ability to frequently reach, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, and climb as required to access inventory and storage locations.
  • Ability to regularly lift, carry, push, and pull materials weighing up to 25 pounds and occasionally up to 50 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Ability to safely operate material handling equipment, including pallet jacks, forklifts, or other equipment as authorized and trained.
  • Ability to perform repetitive hand, wrist, and arm movements associated with inventory handling, scanning, counting, and data entry.
  • Ability to use a computer, handheld scanner, and other inventory management equipment.
  • Ability to read labels, work instructions, inventory records, and computer screens.
  • Ability to work in warehouse, stockroom, and production environments with varying temperatures, noise levels, and exposure to dust and moving equipment.
  • Ability to distinguish product numbers, labels, colors, and inventory markings accurately.
  • Ability to maintain regular and reliable attendance, including participation in scheduled inventory counts and physical inventory audits.
