Job DetailsJob Location: Liberty Educational Ministries, Incorporated - Argyle, TX 76226Position Type: Full TimeEducation Level: 4 Year DegreeTravel Percentage: NoneJob Category: Teacher Position Purpose  The position will assist classroom teachers in the instructional process, reinforcing instruction to individual or small groups of students in a classroom environment.     Essential Functions  Support a safe, positive teaching and learning environment.  Assist in the preparation of instructional materials and implementation of lesson plans and provide routine support.  Assist the classroom teacher in arranging learning environments, assembling materials on bulletin boards and/or other classroom learning displays and in keeping such displays current.  Assist students in completing classroom assignments, homework, and projects. Assure students understanding of classroom rules and procedures and assist students by answering questions, providing proper examples, emotional support, friendly attitude, and general guidance.  Provide small-group instructional support by reading to students, listening to students read, and observing students reading abilities as assigned. Assist students with letter and word pronunciation and recognition. Assist students with math, spelling and writing exercises and assignments.  Assist teachers with the supervision of students during non-instructional times, such as emergency drills, assemblies, before care, cafeteria, restrooms, field trips, hallways, playground, and bus loading / unloading activities.  Collaborate with the classroom teacher in implementing behavior plans.   Support social, emotional, behavioral, and academic development of all students.  Supervise students in a variety of settings and events.  Help students interact successfully by modeling and prompting appropriate behavior.  Serve as a Lower School Substitute Teacher approximately 40% of the time.   Adhere to Student Protection Program (SPP) procedures and trainings.     Responsibilities and tasks outlined in this document are not exhaustive and may change as determined by the needs of the school.    Qualifications  Bachelor’s degree preferred.  Experience working with children in an educational setting.   Demonstrated organizational and communication skills.   Proficient in Microsoft Office suite and Google.  Serve as a Christian role model.    Physical Requirements and Work Environment   Ability to function well in an environment with a wide variety of challenges, deadlines, and a varied and diverse array of contacts.  May work at a desk and computer for extended periods of time.   Regularly use close and distance vision   May stand for extended periods of time.   Works primarily in a traditional climate-controlled office environment   May work in outside weather conditions, including heat and cold.  Be able to occasionally lift to 30 lbs.  Communicate effectively both orally and in written contexts.   Ability to communicate effectively (verbally and written).  Ability to instruct and model desirable skills and attitude.  Ability to remain productive and maintain control under stress.   Ability to maintain a clear focus on a positive student experience.  Full-time, ten-month position.     Qualifications
