Job DetailsJob Location: Liberty Educational Ministries, Incorporated - Argyle, TX 76226Position Type: Full TimeEducation Level: Not SpecifiedTravel Percentage: NoneJob Category: Facilities Position Purpose The Commercial Plumber is responsible for the installation, maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of plumbing systems throughout school facilities. This position helps ensure plumbing systems operate safely, efficiently, and in compliance with applicable codes and standards while supporting a safe, clean, and well-maintained campus environment. Â Essential Functions Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair commercial plumbing systems, fixtures, piping, valves, drains, and related equipment. Diagnose plumbing problems and determine appropriate repairs or corrective actions. Repair and replace faucets, toilets, sinks, water heaters, pumps, garbage disposals, and other plumbing fixtures and equipment. Clear clogged drains and sewer lines and address drainage or wastewater issues. Identify and repair water leaks, pipe failures, and other plumbing-related problems. Perform preventive maintenance and routine inspections of plumbing systems and equipment. Respond promptly to plumbing emergencies and take appropriate action to minimize damage and disruption. Shut off, isolate, and restore water systems as necessary to safely complete repairs. Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, specifications, and equipment manuals. Assist with plumbing needs related to renovations, construction projects, facility improvements, and special events. Ensure work complies with applicable plumbing codes, safety requirements, and school standards. Maintain plumbing tools, equipment, parts, and supplies in safe working condition. Maintain accurate records of repairs, inspections, preventive maintenance, and completed work orders. Coordinate with outside plumbing contractors and vendors when necessary. Follow appropriate procedures for working around students, employees, and occupied school facilities. Maintain clean and safe work areas and properly secure tools, equipment, and materials. Follow OSHA requirements and use appropriate personal protective equipment. Adhere to all campus safety, security, and Student Protection Program policies and procedures. Assist the Facilities Department with other maintenance and operational needs as assigned. Perform other duties as assigned. Â Education and Experience High school diploma or equivalent required. Minimum of three years of commercial plumbing or closely related experience preferred. Experience working with commercial plumbing systems strongly preferred. Valid Texas driver's license and acceptable driving record required. Texas plumbing license or registration appropriate to assigned responsibilities preferred or required based on the scope of work performed. Experience in a school, institutional, commercial, or multi-building facility environment preferred. Must demonstrate a commitment to supporting the mission, vision, and values of Liberty Christian School and serve as a positive Christian role model. Â Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Strong knowledge of commercial plumbing systems, materials, fixtures, tools, and repair methods. Ability to diagnose plumbing problems and perform repairs efficiently and safely. Working knowledge of applicable plumbing codes and workplace safety requirements. Ability to safely operate hand tools, power tools, drain-cleaning equipment, ladders, and other equipment associated with plumbing work. Ability to read blueprints, diagrams, specifications, and technical manuals. Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills. Ability to prioritize multiple work requests and respond effectively to urgent facility needs. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while also collaborating effectively with the Facilities Team. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship. Ability to communicate professionally and respectfully with employees, students, parents, contractors, and vendors. Ability to maintain appropriate professional boundaries when working in a school environment. Dependable attendance and ability to respond to facility emergencies when required. Â Physical and Mental Requirements and Work Environment Frequently stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, climb, reach, push, and pull. Regularly lift and carry tools, equipment, and materials weighing up to 50 pounds; heavier items may require assistance or mechanical equipment. Ability to work from ladders and in confined or difficult-to-access spaces. Ability to perform repetitive physical tasks and use hand and power tools for extended periods. Work may be performed indoors and outdoors in varying temperatures and weather conditions. May occasionally work in wet, dusty, noisy, hot, cold, or otherwise uncomfortable environments. May be exposed to wastewater, chemicals, cleaning products, mechanical equipment, and other conditions typical of commercial plumbing work. Must be able to safely use required personal protective equipment. May occasionally be required to work outside regular business hours for emergencies, special events, or projects. The Commercial Plumber is expected to demonstrate professionalism, integrity, dependability, and a commitment to maintaining a safe and welcoming environment for students, employees, and guests.
