About Us

Autos of Chicago is one of the largest independent dealerships in the Chicagoland area, with over 500 vehicles in inventory, a full-service repair facility, and a growing collision center. We're looking for an experienced Shop Foreman to lead our technicians, improve shop productivity, and maintain the highest standards of quality and efficiency.

Position Summary

The Shop Foreman is responsible for overseeing the daily workflow of the service department, supporting technicians with diagnostics and repairs, ensuring quality control, and helping the Service Manager maximize shop productivity and customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and support automotive technicians throughout the repair process.
  • Dispatch repair orders efficiently based on technician skill level and workload.
  • Assist technicians with complex diagnostics and difficult repairs.
  • Ensure repairs are completed correctly the first time.
  • Perform final quality control inspections before vehicles are released.
  • Monitor technician productivity and efficiency.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized shop.
  • Coordinate with Service Advisors regarding repair status, delays, and additional repair recommendations.
  • Help reduce comebacks through proper repair procedures and quality inspections.
  • Ensure compliance with manufacturer repair procedures and shop policies.
  • Assist in training and mentoring technicians.
  • Monitor shop equipment and report maintenance needs.
Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of automotive repair experience.
  • Previous experience as a Shop Foreman, Lead Technician, or Master Technician preferred.
  • Strong diagnostic and electrical troubleshooting skills.
  • ASE Certifications preferred.
  • Leadership and team management experience.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
