How you’ll contributeĀ 

Ā 

AĀ Certified Respiratory TherapistĀ who excels in this role:

Ā 

  • Maintains up-to-date knowledge of oxygen delivery methods and equipment; monitors for and addresses potential side effects.
  • Administers ordered respiratory therapy treatments; understands indications, dosing parameters, and possible adverse effects.
  • Sets up and monitors mechanical ventilators; performs associated critical-care duties such as airway management and tracheal suctioning.
  • Assesses pain that interferes with function or rehabilitation participation and notifies the physician for appropriate intervention.
  • Performs arterial punctures to obtain ABG samples; recognizes potential complications and contraindications.
  • Performs EKGs, documents/reports results per department procedure, routes to requesting providers, and files reports appropriately.
  • Collaborates with physicians, nursing and rehabilitation staff to coordinate care and optimize outcomes.
  • Ensures accurate, timely documentation in the medical record and adheres to infection prevention and safety practices.
  • Maintains equipment readiness; follows department policies, competency requirements, and quality improvement activities.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

What we’re looking forĀ Ā 

Applicants should be a graduate of an AMA-approved School of Respiratory Therapy.Ā Additional requirements include:

  • Current state Respiratory Therapist license
  • Current CPR certification (BLS required; ACLS per unit requirements or preferred)
  • Three (3)+ years of cardiopulmonary/respiratory care experience highly preferred.
