We are looking for a Clinical Lab Consultant to join our Clinical Support Team and serve as a trusted clinical resource for eye care practitioners and their teams.

This is an opportunity to use your contact lens expertise in a role that goes beyond traditional clinical practice. You will consult with practitioners, help them refine their lens designs, provide education and training, contribute to product improvements, and collaborate with teams across the organization.

What You'll Do

Be a Clinical Resource

  • Provide clinical consultation to WAVE customers by phone, email, online coaching, and case consultation.
  • Help eye care practitioners evaluate contact lens fitting challenges and develop effective lens designs using the WAVE Contact Lens System.
  • Coach practitioners and help build their confidence and skills with WAVE software and lenses.
  • Maintain a high level of expertise in contact lens design, fitting philosophies, WAVE technology, lenses, and their clinical applications.

Educate & Empower Practitioners

  • Help develop and improve clinical training and educational resources for eye care professionals and their staff.
  • Contribute to manuals, forms, photographs, videos, presentations, and other educational materials.
  • Stay current on developments in contact lenses, ophthalmology, optometry, technology, and regulatory requirements.
  • Represent WAVE at local, regional, and international tradeshows and industry events as needed.

Help Shape Our Products

  • Review and evaluate WAVE software and provide meaningful clinical and user feedback.
  • Collaborate with Sales, Customer Service, Marketing, Regulatory, and Quality teams on product and customer initiatives.
  • Participate in special projects and other business initiatives.
  • Work closely with colleagues across WAVE and OCULUS to deliver exceptional customer service, quality, productivity, and business results.
  • Promote teamwork and collaboration across departments.
  • Understand and consistently apply the company's Fundamentals.

What We're Looking For

Required:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Licensed fitting optician or NCLE certification.
  • Strong knowledge of contact lens design and fitting philosophies.
  • Strong customer-service orientation and professional work ethic.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of company and patient-related information.
  • Strong communication, analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and multitasking skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively across departments and functions.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Teams, and SharePoint.

Preferred:

  • 10+ years of clinical, technical, and/or industry experience in ophthalmology or optometry.
  • Certification or college degree in opticianry, technology, science, business, or a related field.
  • Broad knowledge of ocular conditions, pathologies, treatments, contact lens fitting, and related devices.
  • Experience providing clinical education, practitioner training, or technical consultation.
  • Experience working with contact lens design software or other ophthalmic technology.

Work Environment

  • This is a desk-based position with occasional travel of approximately 10–25% for customer visits, tradeshows, training, and other industry events.
  • The role requires the ability to sit, communicate, hear, and work at a computer for extended periods while using various software applications.
