OVERVIEW
The Principal Field Office Director provides strategic leadership, operational oversight, and programmatic direction for USCRI’s nationwide network of field offices. This position is responsible for ensuring the effective delivery, quality, growth, compliance, and sustainability of refugee, immigrant, asylum seeker, and humanitarian services across multiple sites and regions. The Principal Field Office Director leads and supports Field Office Directors and senior regional leaders, promotes operational excellence, drives program innovation and expansion, oversees financial performance, and strengthens organizational capacity to meet evolving community needs. Working closely with executive leadership, headquarters departments, funders, and community stakeholders, the Principal Field Office Director develops and implements national field operations strategies that advance USCRI’s mission and ensure high-quality, client-centered services throughout the field office network.
The Principal Field Office Director reports to the Senior Director.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESÂ
- Lead long-term planning efforts to strengthen service delivery, expand program capacity, and ensure sustainability across field offices.Â
- Establish best practices and operational standards to ensure consistency, effectiveness, and accountability throughout the network.Â
- Foster collaboration, communication, and knowledge-sharing among field offices and headquarters departments.
- Provide direct supervision and support to Field Office Directors and other senior field leadership staff.Â
- Monitor office performance and ensure the successful implementation of refugee resettlement, integration, employment, health and wellness, youth services, economic empowerment, interpretation, legal, and other humanitarian programs.Â
- Ensure program compliance with federal, state, local, and private grant requirements.Â
- Evaluate service quality, client outcomes, and operational effectiveness across all offices.Â
- Support annual fundraising strategy to support existing programs and expand into new service areas, with measurable goals and objectives;
- Contribute to development of proposals for funding opportunities with government, foundations, corporations, and local community entities;Â
- Serve as a strong voice for advocacy on behalf of refugees, immigrants, and other vulnerable populations in the local community;
- Oversee volunteer management processes and volunteer integration into regular program activities.
- Promote client-centered, trauma-informed, and culturally responsive practices throughout the field network.Â
- Develop corrective action and continuous improvement plans as necessary to address operational challenges and program deficiencies.Â
- Review and monitor field office budgets, financial forecasts, grant expenditures, and operational expenses.
- Support field offices in securing and maintaining public and private funding sources.
- Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, inclusion, and innovation.Â
- Support workforce development initiatives that strengthen service quality and operational excellence.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution required; Master's degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, Nonprofit Management, Social Services Administration, International Affairs, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum of ten (10) years of progressively responsible leadership experience in refugee resettlement, humanitarian services, nonprofit management, social services, or related fields.
- Minimum of seven (7) years of experience supervising senior managers and leading multi-site operations.
- Demonstrated commitment to humanitarian response, for refugees, immigrants, asylum seekers, and/or other vulnerable populations;
- Strong leadership experience and team-building skills, with the capacity to serve as lead for provision of trauma-informed, culturally appropriate, and competent client care;
- Solid experience with budget management and oversight of financial processes;
- Experience with strategic planning for program growth and fundraising;
- Experience with monitoring & evaluation activities to ensure program quality and compliance with federal, state, and local grant/donor requirements;
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing to government funders, donors, clients from diverse cultural backgrounds and experience, multicultural staff, community partners, and volunteers;
- Ability to work under pressure and respond effectively in crisis management;
- Exceptional time management, attention to detail, ability to multi-task and meet deadlines;
- Strong decision-making skills and capacity to delegate decision-making to team members;
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite, financial systems, and database programs; and

- Must have a valid driver's license, insurance, clean driving record and reliable personal transportation;Â

- This role involves moderate local, regional, and national travel for local meetings, outreach events, site visits, training events, partnership meetings, and as needed for other management responsibilities. Evening or weekend travel may be required.Â
TRAINING REQUIREMENTSÂ
- Satisfactory completion of USCRI’s Orientation and Training; and
- Complete additional training as identified by supervisor or Human Resources.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Use of manual dexterity, tactile, visual, and audio acuity;
- Use of repetitive motion, prolonged periods of sitting and standing, and sustained visual and mental applications and demands;
- Occasional lifting (up to 25 pounds), bending, pulling, and carrying.
