Job Purpose:
Education & Qualifications: Graduate of Accredited School of Nursing required, BSN required.
Required Licenses/Certifications: Current Nursing License from the state of Texas required. BLS and ACLS certification must be completed upon hire. The Registered Nurse must be PALS certified upon hire if the department is either PACU or ER. In the ER department ENPC or TNCC certifications are also preferred.
Work Experience: 5 years of clinical experience preferred.

- Assists Senior Nursing Leadership in development, implementation, and evaluation of on-going service programs.
- Ability to monitor, maintain, and support unit compliance of regulatory, accrediting, and hospital policies.
- Maintains current license and certifications as required by the position.
- Responsible for ongoing development of self and staff.
- Displays effective communication with all levels of staff.
- Maintains patient confidence and protects operations by monitoring confidential information processing.
- Maintains documentation of patient care services by auditing patient and department records.
- Maintains nursing supplies inventory by studying usage reports; identifying trends; anticipating needed supplies;
- Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
- Maintains a cooperative relationship among health care teams by communicating information; responding to requests; building rapport; participating in team problem-solving methods.
