Work location: Texas Health Heart & Vascular Hospital, 811 Wright St in Arlington, TX 76012.

Work hours: PRN (as needed), Day Shift (6a to 6:30p). No call or weekend requirements. Great growth opportunity.

What You Will Do

Provides Safe Patient Care Under Physician Delegation:

·        Completes accurate documentation in the electronic health record

·         Provides consistent attention to airway, intake, elimination, sleep, rest, mobility and hygiene needs

·         Applies antiembolic stockings and sequential compression devices

·         External defibrillation

·         Nasal cannula or oxygen mask application

·         Oral airway insertion and removal

·         Ultrasound-guided peripheral IV Access

·         Draw blood from ports

·         Other duties as assigned by the care team

Texas Health Heart & Vascular Hospital is a separately licensed facility located on the campus of Texas Health Arlington Memorial Hospital. Our 47-bed hospital includes a 20-bed Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) and a 27-bed Cardiac Telemetry Unit. Our specialties include coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG), valve surgeries, Impella and intra-aortic balloon pump (IABP) support, and various lung procedures. We also provide comprehensive cardiac care, including treatment for heart failure, cardiomyopathies, acute myocardial infarction (AMI), and post-cardiac catheterization care such as angioplasty, stenting, electrophysiology studies, and device implantation.

Here’s What You Need

·         High School diploma or equivalent (GED) required

·         3 months paramedic experience or completion of a paramedic internship, required. 1 year Paramedic experience in EMS or Fire Dept preferred

·         EMT-P - Emergency Medical Technician-Paramedic required or

·         LP - Licensed Paramedic

·         ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support, within 90 days of hire required and

·         BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly required and

·        CPI - Crisis Prevention Intervention Training (ED Only), within 60 days of hire required.
