The Quality Assurance Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, maintaining, and continuously improving the company’s Quality Management Systems (QMS). Maintaining AS9100, NQA-1, and ASME BPVC manuals is essential across ABW’s course of business. This position ensures product quality, regulatory compliance, customer satisfaction, and operational effectiveness are followed within the manufacturing environment.

The Quality Assurance Manager leads internal auditing activities, corrective and preventive actions, quality metrics, supplier quality oversight, and external certification audits while promoting a culture of continuous improvement throughout the organization.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and improve ABW’s Quality Management System. 
  • Ensure compliance with applicable customer, regulatory, and industry requirements. 
  • Manage document control, procedures, work instructions, and quality records. 
  • Lead preparation for and participation in third-party audits, customer audits, and surveillance audits. 
  • Serve as management representative for quality system activities, when assigned.
  • Plan and conduct internal quality audits. 
  • Coordinate corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) resulting from audits, customer complaints, or nonconformances. 
  • Verify effectiveness of corrective actions and ensure timely closure. 
  • Monitor compliance with quality objectives and key performance indicators.
  • Oversee inspection and testing activities, including incoming, in-process, and final inspections. 
  • Review nonconforming material reports and disposition activities. 
  • Support root cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives. 
  • Ensure calibration systems and inspection equipment compliance.
  • Evaluate and monitor supplier quality performance. 
  • Participate in supplier audits and qualification activities. 
  • Work with suppliers to resolve quality issues and implement corrective actions.
  • Interface with customers regarding quality concerns, audits, and corrective actions. 
  • Support regulatory and customer compliance requirements. 
  • Assist with contract review for quality-related requirements.
  • Supervise quality personnel, inspectors, and auditors as applicable. 
  • Train employees in quality procedures, standards, and best practices. 
  • Promote a culture of quality, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Education and Experience:

  • To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The following requirements are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.   • Bachelor of Science Degree or Bachelor of Arts Degree from an accredited institution or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a Quality Assurance or related engineering field.
  • Experience managing NQA-1, AS9100, ASME PBVC and/or ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems. 
  • Experience with internal and external quality audits. 
  •  Supervisory or management experience preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of industry codes and standards (i.e., ASTMs, ASME Section II, III, V, IX)
  • Understanding of quality tools and methodologies, including root cause analysis and corrective actions. 
  • Knowledge of inspection methods, calibration systems, and quality documentation. 
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and customer requirements. 
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills. 
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office
