Overview

Job Purpose

ICE runs exchanges, clearing houses, and the data and technology behind global markets. One part of that is the market data, pricing, and analytics services that thousands of firms rely on to make decisions every day. That means the platform needs to be reliable, resilient, and fast, day in and day out. Keeping it that way takes a global operations team that follows the sun: as one region logs off, the next picks it up. This seat is on the Atlanta desk.

You will live close to production: understanding how our platforms perform and stepping in when something needs attention. We focus on automating work and reducing toil, sharpening the tooling and runbooks the whole team leans on. You will use AI tools to move faster and do more with less, judging a model's output rather than trusting it. This role suits people who would rather fix a problem for good than handle it twice.

Responsibilities

  • Keep production healthy: tuned in to the environment; you step in before a small anomaly turns into an incident.
  • Own incidents end to end: coordinate the fix across engineering and partners, and drive a real root cause response, not a quick patch.
  • Automate repetitive operational work with scripting and AI tools, so the team does less of it manually over time.
  • Improve observability, tune monitoring, expose telemetry and drive intelligent alerting
  • Help run recovery tabletop exercises and disaster recovery drills.

Knowledge and Experience

  • 3+ years with production systems, a relevant degree and certifications, or a track record of building and fixing things on your own.
  • Real comfort in Linux: reading logs, tracing a process, and moving around a server without a cheat sheet.
  • Scripting in bash, Python, or similar, and the instinct to automate your own work.
  • Fluency with AI and prompting to work smarter, with the judgment to check what you are handed.
  • Familiarity with Git and version control.
  • The judgment to follow a procedure exactly and notice the moment it stops making sense.
  • Clear communication with technical and non-technical people, and a steady head when calls get tense.

Preferred Knowledge and Experience

  • Financial, trading, or investment technology.
  • CI/CD, infrastructure as code, or configuration management tools.
  • Networking fundamentals: Firewalls, Load Balancers, HTTPS, SSH
  • Incident and change frameworks such as ITIL.
