The Virtual Preparatory Academy of Missouri at Atlanta is a Kā12 tuition-free online public school serving students across the state. Our unique approach focuses on academic and personal growth through individualized learning plans, helping students feel safe, happy, and successful while utilizing advanced technology to master their studies.
We are seeking teachers who are excited to create a rigorous and nurturing classroom environment that prioritizes student learning and social-emotional development. ACCEL Schools uses a cutting-edge 21st-century curriculum, which can be accessed online and through a variety of traditional methods.āÆĀ
Please note ā while this is an online school position and all instruction occurs virtually, travel and face to face attendance will beĀ requiredĀ several times per year to support in person state testing and student events.Ā

AboutĀ the OpportunityĀ
- Serve as the teacher of record and primary instructorĀ
- Relentlessly work to meet all goals related to student achievement and culture as well as state specific academic accountability goalsĀ
- Deliver highly effective live lessons via web conference based on student need, rooted in research-based instructional practicesĀ
- Complete course set up for each course within the Learning Management SystemĀ
- Monitor student progress in asynchronous courses and provide feedback/grade assignments dailyĀ
- Track andĀ maintainĀ contact with each studentĀ
- Collaborate with Principal to create and deliver Progress ReportsĀ ofĀ StudentsĀ
- Review student level dataĀ frequentlyĀ to inform instructional program adjustmentsĀ
- Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of all studentsĀ
- Utilize research-based best practices in both synchronous and asynchronous instructionĀ
- Create a joyful, caring, and loving classroom environment for all studentsĀ
- Integrate culturally responsive teaching practices into daily lessons and interactions with students, parents, and colleaguesĀ
- Implement school-wide culture expectations and norms, inside the classroom and beyondĀ
- Communicate regularly with familiesĀ regardingĀ the academic and social-emotional growth of their childĀ
- Incorporate 21st century technology skills into daily classroom practice and team settingsĀ
- Participate in the planning and implementation of non-instructional activities such as social events and field trips and attend these events in personĀ
- Collaborate and communicate effectively, humbly, and respectfully with all colleaguesĀ
- Travel to support required face-to-face state testing annuallyĀ
- Perform other duties as assignedĀ
About YouĀ
- CurrentĀ StateĀ teaching license inĀ appropriate contentĀ areaĀ
- Knowledge of State Standards and Common Core StandardsĀ
- Preferred two yearsā experience teachingĀ
- High levelĀ of comfort working in a growth-focused coaching environment based on frequent observations, debriefs, action planning, and progress monitoringĀ
- High quality written and verbal communication skillsĀ
- HighĀ proficiencyĀ in Microsoft Office products including Word and OutlookĀ
- Ability toĀ properly manageĀ confidential informationĀ
- Ability to stand for up toĀ 90 minutesĀ at a timeĀ
- Ability to supervise students in all school settingsĀ
- Ability to pass federal and state criminal background checksĀ
- Experience working in a multi-cultural setting preferredĀ
