The Electrical Designer I is responsible for:

  • Design and develop of medium complexity wiring harnesses (i.e., door wiring harnesses, lift-gates, fascias, consoles, etc.), brackets and troughs; changes to existing designs.  Address and resolve logbook issues.
  • Modification of complex components, Quality improvements, CNs, Manufacturing issue resolution to existing parts/assemblies.
  • Knowledge of applying GDT to a newly created design
  • Package/ position components shown on model integrity report (0,0,0). Design troughs and brackets.
  • Create design study proposals, serviceability, address and resolve logbook issues.
  • NX/Teamcenter structure management, EBOM2TC; part aliasing and positioning
Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • An Associate degree in mechanical or electrical engineering from an ABET accredited university. Other degrees, in combination with relevant experience may be considered.
  • Minimum of 3 years' automotive design experience.
  • Knowledge of product lifecycle management process.
  • Working knowledge of MS Office suite (Excel, Powerpoint, Word, Project)
  • Excellent communication /documentation skills.
  • Ability to organize a project - basic program management skills.
  • Demonstrated organizational, follow up and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Working knowledge and experience in GD&T.
  • Experience with Design for Six Sigma (DFSS) and robust design processes.
  • Vehicle and customer focus on fit and finish excellence.
  • Well-developed program management skills.
  • Knowledge of wiring build/ manufacturing process.
