Position SummaryÂ
As a Child & Adolescent Behavior Specialist, you will work directly with youth and their families to develop individualized recovery plans focused on strengths, support systems, resiliency, and personal goals. You will serve as a primary coordinator of behavioral health services, helping clients access resources, build life skills, manage behavioral health symptoms, and improve functioning across home, school, and community environments.Â
This position is ideal for individuals who are passionate about supporting youth and families through strength-based, trauma-informed, and person-centered care.Â
ResponsibilitiesÂ
Recovery Planning & Service CoordinationÂ
Develop and support Individual Resiliency Plans (IRPs) with youth and familiesÂ
Help youth and caregivers identify personal goals, strengths, and support systemsÂ
Coordinate access to behavioral health, medical, educational, social, and community resourcesÂ
Monitor services and provide follow-up to ensure needs are effectively addressedÂ
Serve as the primary coordinator for behavioral health and community-based servicesÂ
Skill Building & Behavioral Health SupportÂ
Teach coping strategies and emotional regulation skillsÂ
Help youth identify emotional triggers and develop self-management techniquesÂ
Support development of social, interpersonal, and communication skillsÂ
Assist youth in improving functioning at home, school, work, and community settingsÂ
Promote resilience through individualized interventions and goal-focused supportÂ
Encourage healthy natural supports and community connectionsÂ
Crisis Prevention & Family SupportÂ
Assist families in planning for and preventing crisis situationsÂ
Provide education regarding behavioral health conditions and symptom managementÂ
Support families in creating environments that foster resiliency and emotional growthÂ
Identify risk factors related to substance use and develop relapse prevention strategiesÂ
Strengthen family engagement and involvement in treatment planningÂ
Community Engagement & AdvocacyÂ
Link youth and families to community resources and entitlement servicesÂ
Promote participation in school, community, and recreational activitiesÂ
Collaborate with community partners and service providersÂ
Advocate for youth needs across service systemsÂ
Documentation & ComplianceÂ
Maintain timely, accurate, and complete documentationÂ
Ensure compliance with agency and regulatory requirementsÂ
Participate in trainings, supervision, and professional development activitiesÂ

QualificationsÂ
RequiredÂ
Bachelor's Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Human Services, Counseling, or a related fieldÂ
Valid Georgia Driver's License with an acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR)Â
Ability to pass criminal background screening requirementsÂ
Professional and effective verbal and written communication skillsÂ
Sensitivity and responsiveness to culturally diverse populationsÂ
PreferredÂ
Prior experience in behavioral health, mental health, or human servicesÂ
Experience working in a therapeutic treatment environmentÂ
Experience supporting children, adolescents, and familiesÂ
Knowledge of trauma-informed care and resiliency-based interventionsÂ
