POSITION SUMMARY 
The Human Resources Generalist provides day-to-day support to the Human Resources department with a primary focus on recruitment, HRIS profile management, employee engagement, and maintaining accurate employee records. This position manages recruitment activities from job posting through candidate selection and pre-employment requirements, while partnering with hiring managers to support staffing needs across the organization.
The HR Generalist is responsible for creating, updating, and maintaining employee profiles and employment information within the organization's HRIS, ensuring employee data, personnel records, required certifications, and documentation remain accurate and up to date. This position also assists with new hire orientation and onboarding to help provide employees with an organized and welcoming introduction to the organization.
The ideal candidate is organized, approachable, detail-oriented, and proactive, with the ability to manage multiple HR priorities while providing timely and professional support to candidates, employees, supervisors, and the HR Director. This role requires strong communication skills, sound judgment, confidentiality, and a commitment to creating a positive and supportive employee experience.  Â
KEY ROLES & ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:Â
  Recruitment & Hiring
- Coordinate the full recruitment process for assigned positions, including posting positions, reviewing applications, conducting initial screenings, and coordinating interviews.
- Partner with hiring managers to understand staffing needs and assist with identifying qualified candidates.
- Maintain accurate applicant and recruiting information within the organization's Applicant Tracking System (ATS).
- Prepare offer letters and coordinate pre-employment requirements.
- Facilitate background checks, drug screenings, reference checks, and other required pre-employment screenings.
- Monitor candidates throughout the hiring process and provide timely communication regarding next steps.
- Assist with recruiting events, job fairs, community partnerships, and other talent acquisition initiatives.
Onboarding & Employee Records
- Coordinate the onboarding process for new employees to ensure all required documentation and pre-employment requirements are completed.
- Assist with new hire orientation and provide employees with information regarding organizational policies, procedures, benefits, and expectations.
- Maintain accurate and confidential employee personnel files and HR records.
- Monitor completion of required certifications, training, acknowledgments, and other employment documentation.
- Process employee changes, including transfers, promotions, compensation changes, status changes, and separations.
- Conduct routine employee file audits to ensure accuracy and compliance.
HR Compliance
- Assist with ensuring organizational compliance with applicable federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
- Maintain working knowledge of employment regulations including FLSA, FMLA, ADA, EEO requirements, and other applicable employment laws.
- Support compliance with organizational policies and procedures.
- Assist with unemployment claims and employment verification requests.
- Monitor required employee credentials, certifications, background checks, and other compliance requirements.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist the HR Director with HR projects, policy updates, employee engagement initiatives, and organizational priorities.
- Prepare reports and maintain HR metrics related to recruiting, turnover, attendance, training, compliance, and other HR functions.
- Participate in staff meetings, trainings, and organizational events as required.
- Maintain a high level of confidentiality regarding employee and organizational information.
- Provide professional, responsive, and customer-focused HR support to employees at all levels of the organization.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

- Working knowledge of Human Resources principles, practices, and employment regulations.

- Ability to communicate professionally with employees, supervisors, and senior leadership.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Ability to appropriately assess HR situations and determine when matters should be escalated.
- Strong documentation and recordkeeping skills are important.
- Ability to remain objective and professional when handling employee relations matters.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Ability to interpret and consistently apply organizational policies.
- Comfortable providing guidance and respectfully addressing concerns with managers and employees.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
- Experience with HRIS and Applicant Tracking Systems; ADP Workforce Now experience preferred.
RELATIONSHIPS
- Internal: Maintains daily contact with the HR DirectorÂ
- External: Maintain positive rapport with candidates and community members. 
ENVIRONMENT & WORKING CONDITIONS 
Typical internal office environment. Possible travel to club locations within the Greater Augusta area. Consistent Internal contact with employees, applicants, volunteers, and business partners. Sedentary work. Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise.
