Position Overview:

We are seeking a dedicated, empathetic, and experienced in-person School Psychologist to join our team on a contract basis. As a School Psychologist, you will provide comprehensive psychological services to students, collaborate with educators and families, and contribute to fostering a healthy learning environment. You will work in a school setting, offering evaluation, consultation, intervention, and prevention services that support students' academic, social, emotional, and behavioral well-being.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct psychological assessments and evaluations to determine students' cognitive, emotional, and behavioral needs.
  • Collaborate with educators, parents, and school staff to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) and behavior intervention plans (BIPs).
  • Provide counseling and interventions to support students' emotional and mental health needs.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary teams to address students' academic and behavioral challenges.
  • Offer consultation and training to school personnel on strategies to improve learning environments and student outcomes.
  • Promote positive mental health through prevention programs, crisis intervention, and school-wide initiatives.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential records in compliance with state and federal regulations.

Additional Details:

Strides Therapy & Educational Services is looking to support Aurora Public Schools in identifying qualified School Psychologists to join their team. This role will provide comprehensive school-based psychological services, including evaluations, assessments, consultation, and collaboration with students, families, teachers, and other educational professionals. The ideal candidate will be compassionate, collaborative, and committed to helping students succeed academically, socially, and emotionally.

Requirements:
Active CDE Special Service Provider License endorsement in School Psychology (Licensed School Psychologist Specialist or willing to obtain)
Master's Degree, Educational Specialist, or Doctorate in School Psychology
Experience in a school setting providing special education services

  • Essential Duties and Responsibilities not limited to:

    • Conducts extensive psychological evaluations of students
    • Increase achievement by assessing barriers to learning and determining the best instructional strategies to improve learning
    • Evaluate eligibility for special education services (within a multidisciplinary team)
    • Support effective individualized instruction
    • Collect data and provide systematic observations for students experiencing challenges in the school setting.
    • Make referrals and participate in the coordination of community support services
    • Member of school support teams
    • Participates as a crisis team member and provides crisis intervention for students and staff in the event a situation is warranted
    • Stays current on new developments in the field of education
    • All other duties assigned

Qualifications:

  • Master's or Doctoral degree in School Psychology from a NASP-approved/accredited program
  • Valid CO state license or state department of education certification (as needed) as a School Psychologist.
  • Prefer experience working as a School Psychologist in a school setting.
  • Prefer knowledge of state and federal special education laws and regulations.
  • Strong skills in psychological testing, counseling, and intervention techniques.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Commitment to cultural competence and diversity.
  • Passion for working with children and adolescents in educational settings.
  • Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and adapt to changing needs
