Description


APPLE INC has the following available in Austin, Texas. Developing and maintaining an internally developed tool that generates GPU efficiency data. Working with Technology, Power and Static timing teams to determine the Frequency-Voltage curves for the workloads. Working with the Silicon team to improve projections based on Silicon data. Analyzing performance data delivered by the GPU performance team and checking whether the data meets expectations and report any abnormalities for debugging. Analyzing the capacitance and leakage data supplied by the GPU power team to make sure the values are as expected for a project. Working with architects and implementation teams to run experiments that help drive design decisions for the Apple GPU. Making feature additions to support required new features in the tool including updating the equations and silicon technology parameters used by the model to generate more accurate data. Analyzing projections made against actual silicon data to analyze accuracy and possible improvements in modeling. 40 hours/week.

Minimum Qualifications


Master’s Degree or foreign equivalent in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering or related field. Experience and/or education must include: Utilizing computer architecture to scale performance for various GPU/Memory configurations and debug performance limiters at the top level Experience in Power Analysis and frequency sweeps using PTPX to perform PPA Analysis Utilizing Python programming and GIT skills in developing, enhancing and maintaining the tool. Using Statistics and Mathematical functions to make projections, analyze, and distill information from large sets of data. Using VLSI Design and Circuits education to analyze and implement power modeling with a Python based tool used for Power projections Using electrical Circuits Analysis to work on frequency-voltage curves for performance and power trade off projection
