Products include pipe and fittings, valves, pumps, tanks, structural materials, tubing, hose fittings, expansion joints, sheets, bars and other fiberglass and plastic products.

Summary: Sell, build, and maintain customer and sales base within specified territory, responding to all inquiries.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Contact and visit customers to build and maintain relationships by email, phone, fax, letter, and personal visits
  • Compile a list of prospective customers for use as sales leads, based on information from account lists, business directories, and other sources
  • Generate written quotes with supporting correspondence to qualified prospects and follow up until the order is placed, lost, or opportunity is closed
  • Talk with existing customers to determine current/future needs and current satisfaction, and build a relationship
  • Introduce new products to clients and prospects using samples or a catalog, displays, or product demonstration, and emphasize salable features
  • Quote prices and credit terms, establish, and prepare sales orders
  • Communicate with the warehouse as to the estimated date of delivery of the product to the customer
  • Help in gathering current marketplace information on pricing, products, merchandising techniques, etc. for Sales Manager
  • Resolve customer complaints by investigating problems, developing solutions, and making recommendations to management
  • Maintain technical knowledge by reviewing professional publications, attending educational workshops, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies
  • Attend sales meetings as required
  • Maintain open communication with the Sales Manager as to whereabouts for scheduling purposes
  • Maintain Outlook calendar day, prepare call reports weekly, and keep vehicle/maintenance log and expense accounts every month
  • Cover customer service duties as needed in the absence of other customer service personnel
  • Other duties as assigned by the Sales Manager

Education and/or Experience:

  • Associate’s degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or one to two years of related sales or customer service experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Background in the plastic industry a plus
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and driving record that is acceptable to the company’s insurance policy
