Brief Job Description:
The Texas Health and Human Services Commission seeks a highly qualified candidate for a Staff Services Officer IV within the Behavioral Health Services Division. Reporting within the Strategy and Operations department, this position performs complex, senior-level staff services work to support the division.
Work involves planning, directing, coordinating and performing several staff services functions such as human resources, purchasing, training, records management and property management. This position also serves as a develop policies and procedures
Works under limited supervision, with considerable latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.
Essential Job Functions (EJFs):
EJF 1- Plans, develops, maintains and supports SharePoint. May provide technical assistance and training to other staff related to the use of SharePoint. (25%)
EJF 2 ā Provides technical assistance related to various HR processes; advise management and answers policy and procedure questions. (20%)
EJF 3 ā Establishes and maintains BHS database containing up-to-date information about all BHS positions and staff including telework schedules, demographics, vacancy statistics, and office information. (25%)
EJF 4 ā Coordinates division requests for office seating assignments and keeps related maps and databases up to date. (25%)
EJF 5 ā Performs other duties as assigned to support divisional priorities, strategic initiatives, and organizational objectives. (5%)

Knowledge of agency programs, policies, and procedures.
Knowledge of the methods, principles, and practices of the agency.
Knowledge of information technology needs and office management and human resource administration.
Skill in coordinating activities

Initial Screening Criteria:
At least one year experience in office management, business administration, information technology, or human resource administration required. Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with major coursework in human resources, public or business administration, or a related field is generally preferred. Experience and education may be substituted for one another on a year-to-year basis.
