Qualifications
- Additionally, technicians must possess good customer service skills as they often interact with clients to explain repairs and maintenance procedures
- Ability to interpret construction plans and specifications for proper installation and repair
- Valid EPA Certification and required state registrations
- Ability to pass drug screening and background check
- Valid driver's license with a good driving record
- Prolonged periods of walking, standing, bending, stretching, pushing, pulling, climbing ladders, or kneeling, lift/carry up to 50 lbs
- Must be able to traverse and inspect all areas of jobsite in all types of weather both indoors and outdoors: this may include walking, climbing, reaching, bending, crawling, or stretching
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus
Responsibilities
- Reports to: Operations Manager
- A Commercial HVAC Technician is responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems in commercial buildings
- Key duties include diagnosing and troubleshooting HVAC system issues, performing routine maintenance tasks, and ensuring systems comply with safety and efficiency standards
- This role requires a strong mechanical aptitude, proficiency with diagnostic tools, and the ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics
- May assist with recruitment, interview, hire, and train new staff
- Diagnosing issues with HVAC and refrigeration systems through observation, testing, and setup procedures
- Disassemble and reassemble commercial HVACR equipment to perform troubleshooting and preventive maintenance
- Operate hand tools, power tools, gauges, and measuring equipment to service equipment and mechanical systems
- Complete electronic documentation of service tasks, materials used, and labor hours
- Explain service charges and work performed to customers' satisfaction
- Maintain inventory stock on service vehicles
- Reconcile work order documents, vendor packing slips, and weekly timesheets for supervisor review
