Network / Systems Engineer

Primary Responsibilities:

The Network/Systems Engineer provides advanced technical expertise supporting the Service Desk and APR organizations. The engineer performs root-cause analysis, systems troubleshooting, infrastructure diagnostics, trend analysis, and supports resolution of complex enterprise technology issues impacting USPTO operations.

Additionally, in this position you will:

• Perform advanced troubleshooting of network, server, endpoint, and infrastructure issues.
• Support escalated incidents affecting enterprise operations.
• Conduct root-cause and trend analysis on recurring technical issues.
• Analyze performance, stability, and availability metrics.
• Support major incident response and service restoration activities.
• Assist with knowledge article development and technical documentation.
• Collaborate with engineering and product teams.
• Identify opportunities for automation and operational improvement.
• Support continuity of operations (COOP) and disaster recovery efforts.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Engineering, or related field.
• Five (5) years of network or systems engineering experience.
• Experience supporting enterprise Microsoft environments.
• Knowledge of networking, Active Directory, cloud technologies, and endpoint management.

• Knowledge of Windows operating systems and Microsoft Office products.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.

Desired Skills:

• Microsoft Certified Professional.

• Azure Administrator.
• CompTIA Network+ or Security+.
• ITIL Foundation.
