Summary:

Provost & Pritchard is seeking Associate and Senior Civil Engineers with diverse experience in traffic and transportation engineering projects for public agencies and private developers. Candidates must possess excellent interpersonal skills, the ability to build strong client relationships, and experience working within multidisciplinary project design teams.

 

The ideal candidate will have a working knowledge of Synchro, SIDRA, and AutoCAD Civil 3D and be capable of preparing traffic studies and roadway construction documents. Candidates should have experience performing trip generation and distribution analyses, evaluating intersection and roadway segment levels of service, conducting Vehicle Miles Traveled (VMT) analyses, and preparing comprehensive Traffic Impact Analysis reports.

 

Additionally, the ideal candidate will have experience with the California Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (CA MUTCD), intersection control evaluations, signalized intersection design, roundabout analysis and design, and the preparation of Caltrans ISOAP studies, as applicable.

 

Candidates must demonstrate a strong understanding of traffic engineering principles and transportation design and be able to apply that knowledge in a practical project environment. Our team works on a wide variety of transportation projects ranging from traffic studies to intersection and roadway design for cities, counties, and private-sector clients throughout California.

 

Duties:

  • Manage the preparation of Traffic Impact Analyses (TIA)
  • Provide peer review services for Traffic Impact Analyses and transportation studies
  • Conduct Vehicle Miles Traveled (VMT) analyses
  • Prepare and review Caltrans ISOAP and related traffic operations studies
  • Perform intersection control evaluations, including roundabout analysis and design
  • Prepare pavement design recommendations
  • Design grading and drainage improvements for transportation projects
  • Design ADA-compliant sidewalks, curb ramps, and pedestrian facilities
  • Perform horizontal and vertical roadway alignment design
  • Prepare signing and striping plans

 

Qualifications:

Requirements of qualified Associate level candidates:

  • Active California Professional Engineer (PE) or Traffic Engineer (TE) license, or licensure in another state with the ability to obtain California licensure within six (6) months of hire.
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience preparing traffic studies, transportation construction documents, specifications, and engineering calculations supporting infrastructure and development projects.
  • Working knowledge of ADA compliance requirements and implementation.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD; experience with Civil 3D, Synchro, SIDRA, and traffic modeling software is preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.


Requirements of qualified Senior level candidates:

  • Active California Professional Engineer (PE) or Traffic Engineer (TE) license, or licensure in another state with the ability to obtain California licensure within six (6) months of hire.
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
  • Minimum of ten (10) years of experience preparing traffic studies, transportation construction documents, specifications, engineering calculations, and technical analyses supporting infrastructure and development projects.
  • At least five (5) years of experience managing transportation projects and supervising technical staff.
  • Demonstrated experience reviewing and interpreting Synchro and SIDRA analyses.
  • Working knowledge of ADA compliance requirements and implementation.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
