Job DetailsJob Location: Bakersfield, CA 93311Position Type: Full TimeSalary Range: $21.00 - $25.00 HourlyPURPOSE OF POSITION: The Community Relations Coordinator supports the Director of Donor Relations and Manager of Community Development in ensuring the smooth, efficient execution of mobile drives. This role involves managing relationships with community partners, sponsors, and donors, implementing marketing strategies, and driving outreach activities to meet monthly collection goals. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Account-Related Community Engagement and Donor Recruitment: • Build and strengthen relationships with community organizations, sponsors, and volunteers to secure support for mobile and fixed-site drives Community Engagement and Donor Recruitment • Develop and implement strategies to attract new donors, aiming to achieve a monthly target of 350 units with A 90% projection accuracy • Attend community association meetings and events to promote drives and raise awareness Drive Coordination and Execution: • Coordinate logistics for mobile and fixed-site drives, ensuring adherence to operational standards • Assist Managers and Directors with assigned drives and lead drives independently as needed • Track drive performance, review outcomes, and provide recommendations for improvement Marketing and Promotional Activities: • Collaborate with the marketing team to create content for social media, events, and outreach campaigns • Oversee the design, printing, and distribution of promotional materials for drives and events • Partner with media outlets and community groups to market events and raise awareness about donor opportunities Administrative Support and Reporting: • Utilize Blood Bank Computer Systems to track and report donor activities • Maintain organized records, calendars, and inventories, ensuring timely reordering of supplies • Prepare thank-you letters and communication materials to foster relationships with sponsors and donors Volunteer Program Management: • Manage volunteer programs, including recruitment, retention, and training • Coordinate volunteer recognition activities and ensure volunteers are integrated smoothly into drive operations Miscellaneous Duties: • Support high-volume mobile drives and special events • Photograph events and collaborate with media representatives to enhance visibility • Participate in tours and presentations to educate community groups on the organization’s mission Community- Related • Participate in community associations (e.g. Chamber of Commerce) • Reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in multiple community-based organizations • Participate in the development and execution of the market exposure strategy and plan, resulting in community-wide publicity, advertising and media management • Participate in the development and execution of community-involvement events both on and offsite, including media coordination Community Relations CoordinatorEXPERIENCE: • High School Diploma or equivalent (college degree preferred) • Strong ability to work independently with excellent time management and problem-solving skills • Exceptional oral and written communication skills • Experience in customer service and relationship building within the community • Proficient in computer applications and data entry systems • Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects effectively • Bilingual skills (Spanish preferred) are a plus LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS: • Driver’s License SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE: • Ability to determine the needs of donors, volunteers, and co-workers; plus, work in a collaborative team environment • Results-driven, self-starter who demonstrates creative problem-solving skills • Ability to work independently and with limited supervision PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Ability to lift, carry, and pull up to 45 pounds Work in a diverse environment, including indoor and outdoor locations Stand, bend, and sit for extended periods during drives and events.
