Description

Robbins Lumber East Baldwin is currently seeking an experienced Sawmill Sawyer to join our team. If you have hands-on sawmill experience, strong mechanical skills, and take pride in producing quality lumber safely and efficiently, we’d like to hear from you.

Position Responsibilities

• Operate sawmill equipment safely and efficiently.

• Set up and adjust saws and related equipment for optimal recovery and lumber quality.

• Read logs and make sound decisions regarding sawing patterns and lumber production.

• Monitor lumber quality and make adjustments as needed.

• Troubleshoot equipment and production issues.

• Perform routine equipment inspections and assist with maintenance.

• Maintain a clean and safe work area.

• Work closely with other members of the sawmill team to maintain production goals.

• Follow all company safety policies and procedures.

Qualifications

• Previous sawmill sawing experience required.

• Strong understanding of log characteristics, sawing patterns, and lumber grades.

• Mechanical aptitude and the ability to troubleshoot equipment.

• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.

• Reliable attendance and a strong work ethic.

• Ability to work safely in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

• Ability to work as part of a team while also working independently.

Pay range potential over career $44,722 - $71,499 annually.
