Summary:

Monitors and operates an array of extracorporeal and blood testing equipment during surgery at Johns Hopkins Hospital. Educates hospital staff and visitors about the practice of perfusion. Performs as a clinical instructor for students rotating in the clinical arena (optional). Participates in non-clinical duties as agreed upon with the Chief Perfusionist. Has on call and weekend responsibilities as determined by chief perfusionist

                                                                  

Education:

Successful graduation from an American Board of Cardiovascular Perfusion accredited cardiovascular training program. Maintains clinical competency as assigned by the chief perfusionist.

Licensure:

Requires either current certification eligibility or current status of Certified Clinical Perfusionist (CCP) by the American Board of Cardiovascular Perfusion. If certification eligible, required to become certified within 24 months of receipt of certificate or degree from an accredited perfusion education program. Will have the appropriate state perfusion license as dictated by the Maryland Board of Physicians.
