FamilyCare is searching for a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner for our behavioral health department.  

Reports To: Clinical Director

Position Classification: Exempt

Work Location: Barboursville

Physical Requirements:

The employee is regularly required to talk and hear. The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, stoop, and reach. The employee must frequently lift and/or carry up to 20 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move 40 pounds or more. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to focus.

Qualifications:

Registered nurse with a valid West Virginia license and recognized by the WV Board of Examiners for Registered Nurses as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN). If eligible, holds Prescriptive Authority through the WV Board of Examiners for Registered Nurses. PMHNP-BC

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Work as a member of a multi-disciplinary team to provide comprehensive mental health care services.
  2. Perform comprehensive Psychiatric assessment. Order and interpret appropriate diagnostic and laboratory tests.  Formulate diagnosis and develop a treatment plan, including ordering and/or administering pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic interventions. Facilitate patient education and participation in self-care. Implement systematic follow-up and evaluation of client status.
  3. Complete all appropriate documentation promptly according to FamilyCare Policy.
  4. Consult with, collaborate with or refer to other medical providers and behavioral health therapists as appropriate.
  5. Participate in research, educational activities, and the teaching of students, if interested.
  6. Demonstrate effective interpersonal skills.
  7. Attend clinical and staff meetings.
  8. Perform administrative duties as assigned.
  9. Observe all health and safety requirements.
  10. Demonstrate positive customer service and co-worker relations.
  11. Participate in the continuous quality improvement activities of the organization.
  12. cost-effectively perform work.
  13. Perform related duties as assigned.
