Department: Children’s Ministry

Reports to: Weekday/Weekend Childcare Coordinator

FLSA Status: Part-time, non-exempt

Date: June 2026

Position Summary:  The purpose of this position is to provide safe, quality childcare for our weekday early childhood ministries.  This is a flexible position working either Monday and/or Tuesday mornings from 9:00-11:45AM during the program year which typically runs September through May. 

Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

• Responsible for providing a safe, nurturing childcare environment for infants, toddlers and preschool age children
• Provide an environment where children can see, hear and feel Christ’s love in action
• Carry out age-appropriate lessons that have been prepared in advance
• Attend meetings and trainings when scheduled by your supervisor
• Follow teaching, discipline, and childcare guidelines set by Bay Presbyterian Church

Required Skills and Abilities:

• Able to work in a team environment with a willingness to step in where needed
• The ability to be flexible in an ever-changing environment and to adapt to last minute changes
• Patience

Minimum Qualifications, Education and Experience:

• Prior childcare experience helpful
• A heart for children’s ministry and a willingness to serve the Lord through childcare ministry
• Satisfactory background check required

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift up to 25 pounds
• Able to sit on the floor and stand up from the floor
• Able to speak and read in English
