Front Office Coordinator will provide the highest level of customer service to patients, fellow employees and referral sources through the coordination and administration of the “front office” activities. Typical responsibilities include all aspects of the surgery center administrative operations from coordinating check-in, validating insurance and obtaining payment authorization. Provide a high level of support to patients and guests while ensuring compliance with relevant laws, regulations and established policies and compliance programs.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
- Interviews patient, relatives or other responsible individuals to obtain identifying and biographical information. Â
- Provides overview of surgery center regulations to patient concerning pre-operative requirements
- Explains rate, charges, services and surgery center policies regarding payment of bills
- Coordinates general admission of patient
- Obtains signatures for insurance filing
- Collects patient’s payments
- Answers phone as needed
- Cross trains to learn other administrative duties including scheduling, medical file maintenance, opening and closing procedures, etc.
- Performs other administrative duties as assigned by manager or designee

Requirements
Qualifications
- 2-3 years of clerical/reception experience in a medical office setting
- Prior Authorization experience required
- EMR Experience
- Ability to type 40 to 50 WPM
Skills and Abilities
- Proficiency with standard office software applications (Outlook, Microsoft Office ®)
- Detail oriented
- Ability to multi-task and work across the organization
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Enjoys interacting with patients, techs, and other healthcare professionals
- Enjoys creating a friendly atmosphere
- Good at coordinating with others to meet collective goals
