Pipe Welder
The Shaw Group is seeking experienced Pipe Welders to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience welding pipe using GTAW/TIG and FCAW/Flux core processes and be proficient in the 6G position.
The Pipe Welder is responsible for producing quality welds in accordance with welding procedures, drawings, specifications, and company safety and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities
- Weld pipe using GTAW/TIG and FCAW/Fluxcore processes.
- Perform welding in the 6G position and other positions as required.
- Read and follow welding procedures, blueprints, drawings, and weld symbols.
- Set up and safely operate welding equipment.
- Prepare pipe and weld joints by cleaning, grinding, beveling, and other required methods.
- Perform root, fill, and cap welds according to approved procedures.
- Inspect welds for quality and make repairs as required.
- Maintain proper welding parameters, travel speed, arc length, and weld profile.
- Perform tack welding, grinding, cleaning, and other welding-related activities.
- Maintain a clean and safe work area.
- Follow all company safety procedures and properly use required PPE.
- Participate in safety meetings, pre-job briefings, THAs, and JSAs.
- Complete required welding qualifications and performance tests.
Required Weld Test
Must be able to pass 6G GTAW/TIG and GTAW/FCAW/Fluxcore testing
Qualifications
- Previous pipe welding experience required.
- Experience with GTAW/TIG and FCAW/Fluxcore.
- Demonstrated 6G pipe welding experience strongly preferred.
- Ability to read and follow welding procedures, drawings, and specifications.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong commitment to safety and quality.
- Welding certifications or documented qualifications preferred.
