Harford Mutual is a multi-state employer, and this salary range may not reflect positions that work in other states.   THE OPPORTUNITY: Works on claim assignments of higher technical complexity and coordination, in a moderate volume, high complexity work environment.  Determines coverage and investigates, analyzes, negotiates and settles claims.  These claims typically require outside investigation that is coordinated utilizing vendor partners and some limited personal on-site inspections. This position is responsible for the handling and resolution of first party commercial property claims.  This includes real property, business personal property, business income and inland marine damages.  This position is also responsible for the utilization and oversite of multiple vendor partners.   LOCATION: Remote/Hybrid (Bel Air, MD Office/Fort Mill, SC Office)   WHAT YOU’LL DO: Evaluate complex coverage and significant loss exposures, typically losses in excess of $250,000 Perform or arrange for field investigation when necessary Review and establish appropriate reserves Negotiate settlements Responsible for all aspects of the claim including the proper utilization of experts/consultants and other external resources such as Engineers, Attorneys, Cause and Origin experts and Accountants Provide necessary information to reinsurers and affiliates Collaborates with Underwriting and Loss Control Strives to deliver exceptional customer service to the insureds and agents Performs other duties or special projects as required or as assigned by the Property Manager   WHAT YOU’LL BRING: Minimum four-year degree or comparable work experience 7 – 10 years in property and industry experience Experience and technical expertise handling complex commercial property claims in excess of $250,000 Industry recognized designation (CPCU, AIC, SCLA) Adjuster licenses in DE, NC or SC preferred Knowledgeable in field of construction and utilization of estimating software   BENEFITS:   PHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORK ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS: The physical demands described above are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
